Thank you everyone.  I made a snowflake that was a lot harder because of using s curves.  The pattern is really simple it is just controlling the paper.  The paper seems to have a will of it's own!

Thanks Again

Thank you bigger flowers makes sense or smaller polka dots.  I had never seen a quilling pattern on a busy paper before and I wanted to try it.  I was just thinking about making it into a card later so that was the inspiration for the background.  Also I liked that the background was monotone against the flower colors.  I'm thinking of cutting the background into a diamond and putting a colorful background behind it.  It also would've looked better if I didn't use different colored flowers on the same plant.  Some hobbies are harder then others and quilling is on that list!  I certainly wasn't expecting the paper to become so soft when gluing making it fragile.  But it is hard as a rock once it dries.  It also takes a lot of time but that will get better.  Thank you for your help!

This is my first try at a quilling composition.  I've tried to make the shapes before but without a quilling board or tool it was very hard to get the sizes right, I gave up.  So now that I have the right tools I tried again and actually was able to put it all together.  Still need a lot of practise!

Quilling is a bit tempermental.  Getting little paper shapes in the right place is a bit daunting.  But I am glad to have made something and look forward to more advanced techniques.

I appreciate any comments.

I am so glad you got your ATCs!!!  I was going to start making them again tonight and I am running out of grain ideas!  I guess the others are lost in the mail somewhere.  In 1996 I received 2 postcards from Mexico dated 1969.  So they may still turn up some decade!  Thank you for your patience and no offence but I don't think I could handle the suspense of getting mail to you again!!!

I'm so happy!

Vanilla flavor comes from an orchid seed pod.  I went to a local orchid nursery and when I asked about buying one the person laughed.  One plant there was spread through three greenhouses.  They are a vining plant that grows like crazy.  They do not reccommend them for beginners.

Over stuffing can be a lot of fun!  In the back of my mind it also gives me an excuse to have a wide assortment of goodies!  Twelve years ago my craft supplies were almost all yarn.  When we moved back to California the first thing my boyfriend packed were my crochet hooks and yarn.  He knew that I would have to move to be with my stuff again!  Since then I have gone back to paper crafting and I've collected a lot more stuff!  So I love to stuff envelopes with some of my stash.

Thank to all of the encouragement I've gotten from people in this swap I've started collecting art supplies!  My boyfriend got me a set of the Sharpie ultra fine markers!  Plus watercolor pencils, watercolors, oil pastels, drawing pencils, erasers and all kinds of paper!  If I had a wish list my favorite things to receive would be instruments of destruction, empty boxes and cups of tea!  Well I've rambled on enough.  I just wanted everyone to know how much I appreciate the encouragement I've gotten here!
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Golden Crystal Spider Watch on: September 30, 2012 06:32:08 PM
That is what I thought great with a lot of costumes both scary and cute!  There are some instructions on my blog.  The tricky part is that you need to make the bracelets very snug because of the size and weight.  If it was made with seed beads it might only need one bracelet.  Can't prove that because I can't find my seed beads!  I still have a few watches to try, just have to keep hunting!

Thanks for your comment!
