1  Nightstand redo in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by IHeartsTheArts on: April 08, 2012 03:06:24 PM
I found these kinda ugly nightstands at the goodwill... they were really cheap, but not very attractive.

I like the look of those mirrored nightstands at pier one, but they are kinda pricey, so I decided to try my hand at silver leaf... I also filled in the holes from the old hardware and bought pretty new knobs. I ran out of silver leaf before finishing the second one, so I need to make a trip to Michael's for a few more supplies Wink

2  Coffee table refurb in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by IHeartsTheArts on: April 08, 2012 03:02:40 PM
I got this coffee table for free from a friend, but my taste is a bit girlier than hers, so I decided to refinish it...

Here is the after! I think I am actually going to use it as a TV stand...

3  Wall Hanging in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by IHeartsTheArts on: April 08, 2012 03:00:31 PM
I got this wall hanging free from a friend when I moved to my new apartment, but it's a bit traditional for my style...

So I sanded, primed, and painted it! Here it is now, in my kitchen!

4  Re: Golden Age of Silver Cinema Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by IHeartsTheArts on: April 08, 2012 02:53:53 PM
I received from CDEeeek a few days ago, sorry it's taken me so long to post!

She sent me photos of myself from a costume party last year, but she altered them to look antiqued... Including one in a frame:

And also, this cute scrapbook full of fun vintage inspiration!

Here is a sample page from the inside Smiley

Thanks so much CDEeeek!

5  Re: Make Me a Hat! Round 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by IHeartsTheArts on: March 25, 2012 02:22:04 PM
I got my hat from Alchamy513! I've actually had it for a couple days, but I was bad about taking pics right away... It's super cute- kind of a slouchy/beret with a lacy pattern!

Sorry for the crummy photos- I didn't have anyone around to help me take them, so I had to do the old arms-length-on-the-iphone thing.

Thanks so much Alchamy!

Here is a picture of me wearing my favorite vintage hat... I'm on my way to a 1940's Blitz party here, so I'm in a costume...

I'm going to fill out my questionnaire today Smiley

I got my box from arwenjade today!!! LOVE IT! I told her that I liked Romeo and Juliet, and she definitely ran with that theme... Here is the box:

It's dark green velvet, and screams Juliet to me Smiley

Oh look! It's full of fun stuff!

All of the stuff out of the box, including a paper rose, two bookmarks, a beaded necklace, a book of sonnets, a pincushion, a reusable bag, and some note cards.

The necklace:

Sweet pincushion:

These bookmarks are so cute!:

Paper Rose- so pretty... I love roses, they are my fav.:

Beautiful bag, with my initial! I think I am going to use this for storing jewelry in my purse or while I am traveling... it's a nice size for that:

And a book of Shakespeare's sonnets! I am totally keeping this at my purse so that I can quote Shakespeare at a moments notice! She did such a great job making this, it looks super professional:

And inside are all of the sonnets!

Thank you so much arwenjade! I totally love everything, you did an awesome job!

I got a great package from AmyLynn98 today! I told her that I liked Miss Piggy, Statler and Waldorf, and said that since I was excited for the Christmas season it might be fun to get some Christmas decorations that were muppety... Here are the pics:

These are currently on my oven making my boring kitchen look cheery and seasonal!

Oh look! there are Muppet ones for the rest of the year!

Reusable Miss Piggy bag:

Awesome piggy ornament- currently adding a certain je ne sais quoi to my tree:

Haha! It's a Kermit eyeball! But also an ornament! I love it!

And this might be my fav- It's a magnet made out of a tiny tin- it has the whole gang on the muppet show stage, and of course Statler and Waldorf being critical Smiley

Thanks so much for the great package Amy!

9  Scary Halloween Makeup in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by IHeartsTheArts on: October 27, 2011 05:40:18 AM
This is the makeup I wore for last Halloween- I had fun getting double-takes and scaring grown men Wink I used modeling wax, compact powder in a sort of corpse-y color, fake blood, and a variety of eye shadows and eye/lip liners I already owned. I also am wearing some inexpensive spooky contacts. I was going for "animal attack victim".

10  1930's style blouse I made in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by IHeartsTheArts on: October 25, 2011 10:55:18 AM
I finished this 1930s style blouse today, it's from a Vintage Vogue pattern, and I used some random fabric from my mystery fabric pile. I like that it is classy enough that I can wear it to work Wink Also, this is my first post! Woot!
