1  Hope this goes here.................Refurbished easel for my kids! in Completed Projects by mrssutton99 on: August 27, 2005 07:06:03 PM
So here is the short story...............

I bought a old very well loved and used easel/blackboard combo @ Goodwill for my boys (it was only $4) and pretty sturdy but well worn........

I thought I could spuce it up, got some blackboard paint, some self-adhesive liner and misc items I have around the house such as empty cans and leftover wood stain (red, blue and yellow)
and here it is ..........

Close up of the holders

And here are my boys enjoying it of course.

And I forgot to add of course both sides are the same with the exception of the legs (those are color coded for each boy....)

but wait...one of the flowers is missing its flower:

that's because it's turned into a little flower fairy, and she's flying away...

4  My first "real" post..............Skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by mrssutton99 on: July 07, 2005 09:22:15 PM
Whoooooohooooooo!!!

I have been lurking for a while, replying to a few posts, but until now I hadn't really gotten to actually make anything for myself (got layed off , feeling sorry for myself blah, blah, blah) but now I am all pumped up and ready to go with tons of ideas and tons of fabric.........

Now this is the story of this project it started about 1yr and maybe 7mths ago while I was prego with the second boy , I had this idea of making a dress by taking a cheapy denim shirt I cut and a length of fabric (bad Idea, I looked like a tent and never wore it).

See here:

My boy is now almost 16 mths old and I have transformed the UGLY dress into a cute skirt.

I was inspired by this skirt, so I traced it directly onto the fabric (bad Idea too, it's my first attempt at making something without a commercial or self drafted pattern....I realized I should have made it on paper, I forgot to add for darts etc etc) but all in all it came out cute and now I can't wait to get into the groove again...................

Now here is the final product
Thanks for looking and I hope to be posting more and more
