Oh my god I am totally obsessed with these! I experimented today with making brooches in this way with fabric, but not sure the results are that great. However, tried it with an old tape measure and I think they look awesome!

I'm about 4 inches in - I got bored with the ribbing so only did about an inch and a half (I am really impatient) This is my first ever non-accessory knit Wooo!

Recommended yarn and needles - let's hope it's the right size! How would you even go about trying it on without it coming off the needles? Is there some magic trick?

Whipped this up while watching TV today, and as a result totally didn't read the pattern right, but it fits my massive heed (think orange on a toothpick) and is vary cute and warm.



heh, and I didn't put the earflaps centered on the sides because...well, I wasn't paying attention, but they're still cute:



I think the vareigation in the yarn really compilments this pattern, and saves all that tedious sewing in of colours at the edge
