21  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Hoping you can help...Mock Cable Scarf on: February 16, 2006 05:38:33 PM
If I can knit a cable so can you! Check out this link and give it a try, it really is sooooo easy!

Sorry, I don't have any help for the mysterious pattern. But honestly, cabling being hard is such a myth.

The shadow knitting is defunked for now. I have a sudden deadline (11 am tomorrow) to make gifts. So, I'll be up half the night watching terrible movies and knitting my fingers off. Carpal Tunnel rocks!

KLF is the Kopyright Liberation Front. They are an eccentric electro band---though if you're into the Illuminati they might mean a little more. I heard somewhere that they burned a million pounds in a street in England. Whether or not you feel like reading between the lines of the band---they're good. Funnily enough a lot of my friends remember them and listened to them all the time---but can't recall what any of the songs were about Smiley
24  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: what's your favourite knitting tip or trick? on: February 07, 2006 07:01:40 PM
I think she just means being ambidextrous. Knitting left handed and right handed. Kinda like how when you make an icord the right side is always facing you. You'd knit a row and without turning your work or switching needles you'd knit back the other way. But I could be wrong.

Haha, I don't actually know. I guess if I were you I'd check out with Home Depot or some such place what your materials options are. But then again I bet somebody here knows what's up. I've never built anything that had to be safe near a fire, sorry Sad

There's not too many shadow knitting patterns so this'll have to do as an example :

It's sort of like a hologram. I still haven't tried it yet mostly because I hate finishing.

Good idea for a second shirt Smiley

Mad mad props for doing a KLF shirt!!! I read the title and I was like "No $%^&#*! way!!" I love KLF Smiley Shirt looks awesome. So, does the Ghostworld one, but it is overshadowed by the coolness of the KLF in my book. You should totally add some images from their videos. Like a truncated pyramid. Or a train. Or a train going into a truncated pyramid. Man, I'm all freaked out by the awesomeness.

Edit: P.S. Thank you! You just gave me an idea for some shadow knitting Smiley

I wish I had a pic, but a friend of mine decorated the local theatre box office window with pieces of stained glass. Just glued everything on. She created a picture of a juggler, I thought it came out really well. So maybe a mosaic of something or just random glass pieces. I bet the light from the fireplace hitting it would look awesome.

What if you took a magazine and pasted you in? Maybe a magazine about stuff he likes, or things that would remind him of you.

Huh, weird, I haven't really had that problem. If you work with felt maybe you can felt it a little on the wrong side. That's probably really dumb. I don't know what to do about scarves though. Weave a LOT in?

I meant wool. DoH!
