2  Squirrely Pillow! :D in Knitting: Completed Projects by peachessunshine on: March 25, 2012 08:46:56 AM
I made this pillow for the Crafted Cushion Cover Swap, which was so fun! I loved making this pillow! The front is just intarsia of squirrels, and the back is basketweave with an opening to slide the pillow in. I crocheted around the edges to make a nice border. Smiley

3  Crocheted Flip Flop straps! :D in Shoes: Completed Projects by peachessunshine on: March 04, 2012 11:09:31 AM
(I hope I can post this here).
Quite a while ago, I had some plain black flip flops that were a little worn. I just came across the pictures, so I thought I's share.  I found a tutorial on youtube (mikeyssmail was the guy who did it), and I used Lion Brand Homespun in Tudor and a size J hook. Smiley I think they're fun and comfy.

4  A Star For My Kai in Crochet: Completed Projects by peachessunshine on: February 27, 2012 08:09:36 PM
I crocheted this when I was pregnant with my son Kai. It is one of like a trillion blankets I made for him. You can't tell in the photo, but the yellow is threaded with a really pretty silvery yarn. Smiley

5  Re: Crafted Cushion Cover Swap Gallery (SO Mar12) in The Swap Gallery by peachessunshine on: February 23, 2012 08:16:38 AM
My partner was the very talented PerfectlyBohemian. She made me this GORGEOUS squid pillow. The technique was I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) needle felting with wool. Squid are my favorite animals.
Thank you, PerfectlyBohemain, you were a wonderful partner, and this is a beautiful pillow!  Grin

6  My Novel Has A Thong! :) (My first knit bookmark/bookthong). in Knitting: Completed Projects by peachessunshine on: February 12, 2012 07:54:03 AM
I knit this with RH Soft yarn, in teal. I found a cute leaf pattern, made two, and just joined them around the book with an I Cord. It slips over it, and is snug enough to stay in place. I think I may make a larger one for hardback books. Smiley Really easy/simple; took about 10 minutes. Cheesy

7  My Son and His Blankie in Knitting: Completed Projects by peachessunshine on: February 12, 2012 07:48:02 AM
I knit this blanket using an entrelac method and a Bernat Baby yarn that is variegated blue, green, and white. He loves it. He rubs it on his face and cuddles with it. Cheesy  (I don't know why, but every time he takes a picture, he has to squint his eyes and open his mouth..........).

This is the blanket hanging over his crib. It has a border of 8 rows of single crochet in a yellow yarn striped with silver.

8  My Baby's First Blanket in Knitting: Completed Projects by peachessunshine on: January 23, 2012 03:34:26 PM
I knit this blanket when I found out I was pregnant. I chose a variegated blue/green/white because my theme for the baby is the ocean. I used Bernat's Baby Sport, and for the border I used a yellow threaded with silver (don't remember what brand) and did 5 rows of single crochet. I LOVE knitting entrelac. Smiley My son is 6 months old now and he clutches the blanket and rubs it on his face.  Cheesy

9  Super Entrelac! :D in Knitting: Completed Projects by peachessunshine on: January 23, 2012 03:26:04 PM
I love entrelac, and I made this for a friend who was in the hospital to get his appendix taken out. I used Lion Brand Homespun in Tudor; I did not match the dye lots, so it came out with a cool variety of color. I used bigger needles, so the squares are huge. It's on my king sized bed. It is soft and warm, and now I want to make one for myself, even though it took a lot of time and yarn.

The border I did a row of double crochet and then I did a double crochet/chain for the 2nd row.

10  get well comfortghan in Crochet: Completed Projects by peachessunshine on: January 20, 2012 03:11:39 PM
I made this afghan for a friend I met that goes to my college. She's been in the hospital recently, and I crocheted this as a get well soon present. She's doing better now. Smiley (It's longer than it looks; It got cut off in the picture).
I used Lion Brand Homespun in Tudor, and I used the 5 1/2 hour throw pattern from their website. I used a smaller hook, though.
