2  Adorable Baby Stuff! in Crochet: Completed Projects by cassiem on: March 26, 2012 05:53:28 PM
One of my coworkers has a baby on the way!  It's exciting - they know it'll be a girl, so I made a blanket and two dresses.  The blanket is a pattern of my own (I didn't write as I went, but it's pretty easy), while the dresses are both the same pattern (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-girl-sleeper-set---dress) off ravelry.  It's awesome how different they turned out, just from using a boucle yarn instead of a smooth one.

At long last, pics!

I got my package from Tracey87!  Full of awesome stuff, it was!

A headband, all done in shells and pearls!  I've already worn it to work - it's a little heavy, but it stays on really well.  I feel like a friggin mermaid wearing it - it is fantastic!

A trio of embroidered cards!  They have envelopes with them, but I don't know that I like anyone enough to actually mail them!  So pretty, and she threw in a peacock because she noted on my pinterest that I love them.

An altered tin, with a mermaid, a fishy, and an oyster on it.  This is amazing - I've never done an altered tin, and they astonish me.  It's so detailed, with shells all around the sides.  And inside!

A passel of Little Mermaid stickers - which I need to start sticking on EVERY. THING. I. OWN.  And!

Bottle-cap magnets with little critters in the resin!  These are not in my fridge yet because I'm living with a fridge not my own.  As soon as I have my own house with my own fridge?  Octopus with a bow all over the place, my friends.

Great, great stuff.  I also forgot (because I am a dingus) to take a pic of the little toy octopus she tossed in.  It is super cute!

I got my last package (from the lovely and talented Miss Barbara) today!  She made me a pair of crocheted cases for my iPhone - hilariously, my phone stopped working the day after she sent these guys out!  But, thankfully, I got a replacement, and these both fit it perfectly!

I got my package from Chrmisha today, and will post pictures when I get a chance to connect my camera up tonight.  But they're so pretty, and so much detail went into the whole thing!  It's amazing!

Edit: Pictures!  OMG I have so many!

I took pictures of EVERYTHING, since even the packaging was cool!  Firstly, the picture on the outside of the box:

Yay Hogwarts!

Inside was a letter from Chrmisha:

On Hogwarts stationary!

Apparently, my ornaments were part of Winky's rehab arts and crafts Cheesy

One of the envelopes even had the Hogwarts seal pressed in wax!

Here's the group shot!

I forgot to take a picture of the key by itself, but it's so pretty and detailed!  I kinda want to wear it as a necklace!

There's a Remembrall!:

A circle set with the house crests in bottlecaps and the Hogwarts crest on the bottom!

And some money from Gringott's!  A Galleon, a Sickle, and a Knut, all strung together!

Thanks so much, Chris!  Everything is awesome, and I'm astonished at how fast you got everything done!  Can't wait to get these guys up on the tree!

I received times 2 today!  Made my whole sort of meh day at work better to come home to awesome packages!

Firstly, I got a box from TroubleT; she'd claimed me for a few gifts for Justin's sister and brother-in-law who are very into the SCA.  She sent two medieval cookbooks for Katie, and a GREAT piece of embroidery for Robert.  Thanks so much, TroubleT, they'll both be over the moon!

Secondly, one of the two claims that Miss Barbara took out got here - today's was durable pot holders for my step-dad.  They're so great I sort of want to keep them for myself!  Thank you, Miss Barbara - these are perfect!

Thank you both!  This is great, and has actually saved me a ton of time and money, lol.  This swap is awesome.

7  Fishnet Stockings! in Crochet: Completed Projects by cassiem on: November 15, 2011 12:22:24 PM
I made these as a (late) birthday gift for one of my co-workers.  She just turned 20, and I thought it would be something fun for her to have a pair of fishnets that she could wear and still be warm in!  So I went to the store and bought 2 skeins of a wool/bamboo blend and used this pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/julys-sock---pink-and-green-foo-foo as a starting point.

The end result?  My first pair of socks EVER

I think they turned out really nice.  The detailing on the top is a simple picot, but it makes it look really chic, I think.  It was the fussiest part of the whole thing.

The first heels I ever turned.  It was easier than I expected, but the second one was harder than the first, strangely.

She was super happy with how they turned out, and so was I!  It was a win-win crafting project!

I just got my package from PaperSnipper, and omg how cool!  And sooooo tiny!

I was sort of difficult, cause I said I had enough stuff that took up space on dressers and cabinets and stuff, so she made something totally cute and tiny that I could do anything I wanted with!

First is the little envelope it came in:

SO. CUTE.  And so detailed!  I envy people with that much scissor skill  Cheesy

And then the little card!:

It's all painted, the background and the witch and the moon and the cat!  So adorable!  It's blank inside, so I could write a little note and give it to someone I love, or frame it and hang it on a wall or whatever!

. . . also, apparently, the pics uploaded sideways somehow, so . . . turn your head about 90 degrees and you'll be able to see everything right!

Thank you so much, Emily!  I love it!

9  My first hat! in Crochet: Completed Projects by cassiem on: September 04, 2011 03:16:27 PM
I recently moved (about a year ago) to Ohio, and had somehow managed to move without packing my winter gear!  I left behind a hat and 3 scarves, which I sorely missed in the frigid winter this past year.

As a result, I decided to take the time while it was warm to make myself some cold-weather stuff, and this hat was the first thing I made (as well as my second hat ever; the other one was a gift for my grandmother a few years back, and was nothing like this one.  I used this pattern from ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/divine-hat-2

The yarn I used was Cascade Eco+ wool in Merlot from my (small) stash - had almost a whole skein left after making a sweater for a birthday gift.
