Hello!  I'm 36, and I'm a bartender in Oklahoma City, OK. My favorite colors are blues, greens, purples and any other ocean-y colors.  I also like black, pink, red -- really anything but most oranges or yellows. I love reading supernatural, fantasy, fairy tale genres and the like. I'm very into herbalism and apothecary. I make my own tea blends and infused oils and tinctures with herbs from my garden. Speaking of gardening, I love it! I only wear t-shirts (almost exclusively black) and jeans, but I love studs and rivets, mostly on black boots. I'm mildly obessed with my 2 dogs, Simon and Trey. I love Star Wars, bar-related things (beer, bar glassware, etc.), video games (original Nintendo stuff and World of Warcraft), tattoos, witchy and magical things, the moon, fish, skulls, anchors, Toulous-Lautrec, vintage music instruments and equipment, pin-ups, goddess mythology, and if you need any more info, please send me a PM. Also, feel free to look over my Pinterest for more inspiration: https://www.pinterest.com/redpopsicles/

I don't really have a problem with any allergies. Also, feel free to PM with any questions. Smiley

7  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Black Cat Potholders on: October 25, 2012 05:25:47 AM
For the 13 Days of Halloween swap, I made my partner these potholders, which were inspired by some pillows she had on her pinterest.

I just used some buttons from my stash, and I embroidered on the whiskers. Hope you like them!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Transfiguration
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Black Cat Potholders
Project Page Link (if available): Here is where I posted the project: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=415960.0
Brief Description: I found a couple different beetles on a nature walk recently, and when I transfigured them, they came out as larger red and tiny white buttons. Seeing that it's the Halloween season, what else could I do with them but make them into black cat potholders? So, I turned the beetles into buttons, and the buttons into a couple of black cats!

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Wire Pumpkins for Fall on: October 25, 2012 04:57:59 AM
I made these wire pumpkins for my partner in the 13 Days of Halloween swap.

I like them because you can decorate with them throughout the fall and aren't just Halloween-specific.

I used this tutorial: http://mamiejanes.blogspot.com/2009/09/wire-pumpkin-project.html to make the pumpkins, and I ended up using the smallest can of tomato paste I could find for the wrapping and some wire from the hardware store that my SO uses to make chain maille links. I forget the gauge exactly, but I'm thinking it was probably 14. The stems are sticks I picked up in my backyard.

I may end up making a few more of these for my own decorations and for gifts. They were really straightforward and took hardly any time at all. C&C welcome!
