1  Problem with my gauge? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by leighannester on: May 04, 2006 07:56:57 AM
I made a prayer shawl/wrap and it is beautiful.  The only problem is I discovered when I laid it out that the bottom is more narrow than the top.  I am so frustrated because I always tend to do this when making something.

Here is a rough sketch of what I mean (and I mean ROUGH SKETCH):

Any suggestions on 1) how to fix this and 2) avoid this happening in the future?

Oh, and I am going to a fundraiser tomorrow night and wanted a cute bag so I took the black clutch bag I had in my rummage and added some flowers (p.s. excuse the madness in the background):

I went into a botique yesterday and discovered the most adorable vintage clutch purse adorned in daisies.  Then I realized the price tag was $49.  Then I realized I had almost the same exact bag at home that had belonged to my granny.  Soooo, I rushed out to buy the supplies.

My bag before (I had already wrapped a scarf around the handle):
