1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Freshwater pearls and Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace on: September 02, 2011 11:13:42 AM
This piece reminds me of a forest in the Fall. I made this piece using a sterling silver pendant that hangs from a single strand of freshwater pearls.

2  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Newbie... and trying to figure my way around this awsome forum on: August 31, 2011 08:57:06 AM
Hello, my name is Margaret Sweeney, creator and designer of Michaela Jewelry by Design (Michaela being my middle name) specializing in high-quality handcrafted artisan jewelry.  I am originally from England and moved to California in 1993.  From the age of 15 I designed and made my own clothes but when I moved to California I gradually stopped.  I tried a number of creative outlets but none of them completely fulfilled my creative juices.   Then one day, back in 2007 I was walking home from shopping when I stumbled upon a bead faire.  Curious, I bought myself some beads (at that time not really knowing what I was buying!), pliers and a How To book.  Since that fateful day, I don't think a day has gone by without me thinking about jewelry or talking about jewelry!  I immediately took classes for wire wrapping, knotting, chainmaille and everything in between and then I just practiced and ran with it.

Forums are pretty new to me so I'm still a little slow when it comes to knowing the protocol etc. I'll get there - I hope! Smiley  I'm looking forward to being a part of this amazing forum and I hope to get involved, make many friends and be able to receive (and hopefully give) advice.   Looking forward to this journey!
