11  Quidditch World Cup - It's a real event! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Sparkly Sharp Fabulous on: November 02, 2011 06:57:07 PM
Hi everyone!

I am debating having a Quidditch World Cup watch party, since I won't be able to make it to NY for this years game.
This is their official shirt and logo:

For those of you NOT aware of the Harry Potter inspired Quidditch World Cup, don't feel bad, I just found out about it! Apparently its been going on for a while now. Quick write up of it here: http://sparklysharpandfabulous.blogspot.com/2011/11/quidditch-world-cup-its-real-event.html

Anyways, I'm thinking it would be pretty awesome to have a watch party, like people have parties for the super bowl, except teams aren't as well known and their logo's arent as easy to get (yet!)

Any suggestions on gear/clothing I should make for this? I'd love to have everyone have SOMETHING to wear, Harry Potter themed of course!

Thoughts? Ideas? Do share Smiley

12  Weight Watchers Baked Crab Rangoon ATTEMPT 1! in Recipes and Cooking Tips by Sparkly Sharp Fabulous on: October 26, 2011 06:10:22 PM
So I was on Pinterest the other night, scrolling through piles of decadent chocolate cakes and what not, and came across the most awesome thing I've tried in a while: Weight Watchers Baked Crab Rangoon!

How could I resist? Here's a look at my first attempt:

I have re-posted the recipe and a lite mini picture tutorial for my fellow "Visual Learners" here: for your better viewing (and printing!) pleasure
http://sparklysharpandfabulous.blogspot.com/2011/10/weight-watchers-find-baked-crab-rangoon.html

I doubled the first batch, froze most of them, and they defrosted BEAUTIFULLY! I'll be using these again for the upcoming holiday season! They reheat so quickly its awesome!!

My only hope is that my folding improves drastically, because mine is a mess! Live and learn!

Let me know if I can provide you with any more information! This does NOT taste like a normal "diet" food! Enjoy!

13  $6 Candy Corn Inspired Nails for Autumn/Fall in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Sparkly Sharp Fabulous on: October 01, 2011 06:03:24 PM
Happy Autumn! I don’t know about where you live, but we are CELEBRATING down here in Florida! We have been pretty consistently in the 90s for ages it seems and its FINALLY getting a little cooler!

In honor of our non-sweatering-melt-when-you-walk-out-the-door-and-drip-in-humidity weather, I have decided to do another round of marble nails inspired by candy corn and beautiful fall and autumn colors, all for $6 dollars! I made a complete list of my processes and colors I used (with commentary, of course!) and listed it out in detail here: http://sparklysharpandfabulous.blogspot.com/2011/10/6-candy-corn-inspired-nails-for.html

Take a look! I need to do a tad more cleaning up, but I just HAD to share with you! I love them!

They look absolutely adorable out in the sun. I think these are great because they aren’t too in your face orange-y , but still give off that candy corn vibe. These have such a great shimmer to them and look amazingly shiny and sparkly in the sun!

What do you think of them?

14  Very Berry Nut Muffins! Nutritious and delicious! in Recipes and Cooking Tips by Sparkly Sharp Fabulous on: September 27, 2011 05:36:42 PM
Very Berry Nut Muffins! Nutritious and delicious!

Tried and true, these are by far my FAVORITE muffins! Add a little spread of cream cheese and ohh! I’m in heaven!  Obviously I’m not a nutritionist, but for the amount of berries and nuts in here add a little bit of healthy-ness to your daily routine, and make for a great morning snack. Now, if you layer on the cream cheese, maaayybbee it’s not so much on the healthy side, but that’s beside the point.

The berry and nut combination can be used with whatever you have on hand. I’ve made it with frozen berries, like the ones for smoothies, fresh berries, freshly frozen fresh berries, everything! Nuts, whatever YOU like and you have on hand works! This is just my favorite combination!

Recipe and somewhat lengthy suggestions included if you are interested in trying them!

Is it too much berry for you?

15  1 Prep Bag Wonder Dinner! Buffalo Burgers & Savory Baked Potato Wedges in Recipes and Cooking Tips by Sparkly Sharp Fabulous on: September 15, 2011 02:09:05 PM
Hi all!

I have recently started sharing some of my recipes that I make frequently and are pretty much fool proof! Today I am sharing with you my "Easy" & "Easier" Versions of My 1 Bag Prep Dinner. This time it is my yummy Buffalo Burgers & Savory Baked Potato Wedges Recipe. I literally use 1 bag to prep and season all of it!

I have included directions and recipes for this here:
http://sparklysharpandfabulous.blogspot.com/2011/09/easy-and-easier-versions-of-my-1-bag.html

It is kind of lengthy because I put lots of procedural pictures and my comments in it, so I don’t want to post it all over craftser because I don’t know how many people are actually interested!

I love this recipe because it is by far one of the easiest to make in a hurry, and to clean up! The quantities in this recipe are based on feeding 2 people, but you can easily crank up with scale with ease.

I hope this inspires you to make your version (or mine!) of this super easy meal! Any questions? Comments? Please share!

Thanks for looking!!

16  Free Up-cycled Make-Up Holder in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Sparkly Sharp Fabulous on: September 08, 2011 01:22:14 PM
Today I would like to share with you something that I have up-cycled into a very handy tool! This is my new counter friendly, space saving make up and goodies holder! What do you think?

If you look closely it is actually an old make up rack used from a local Walgreens cosmetics wall. They were setting up their new cosmetics wall for the incoming season. They were tossing out TONS of these! I couldn’t resist, I just had to take some!

I went into a bit more of the how to and assembly details (with a lot more larger scale pictures for your viewing pleasure) on my blog in the event you wanted to attempt something like this: http://sparklysharpandfabulous.blogspot.com/2011/09/free-up-cycled-make-up-holder.html

Thank you for looking! I'd love to hear what you thought about this creation!!

17  In My World, This Is What Flowers Look Like in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Sparkly Sharp Fabulous on: September 07, 2011 06:24:49 PM

I have had this series of flowers done for a few weeks now, and have been putting off photographing them for some reason. I think it’s because I am debating if they are truly finished or not. I also was debating if I wanted to enter them in the Challenge 66, "Inspired By Nature". I did two projects during that time frame, these, and my awesome (if I do say so myself!) Stormy Glass Mountain which I entered (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=390085.msg4618194#msg4618194) I hope I made the right choice there!

I really love these, and they brighten up out little hallway so nicely! I had to crank up the exposure on my camera because there is just not a lot of natural light in the area unfortunately. Less talking, more pictures!

If you are interested in more of the technique and "story" if you will, of this series, I did a mini write up of it: http://sparklysharpandfabulous.blogspot.com/2011/09/in-my-world-this-is-what-flowers-look.html , but in the mean time, I really wanted to share with you guys and hear what you had to say about them! I hope you like them Smiley

18  Stormy Glass Mountain in CHALLENGE 66 ENTRIES by Sparkly Sharp Fabulous on: September 05, 2011 02:26:40 PM
I would like to present you with my entry for the Craftster Challenge # 66 – Inspired By Nature:

This mountain is hand crafted by layers of paper Mache and is painted with acrylic paint. The trees and waterfall are made of broken glass. The thunderous storm cloud is simple foam board and holographic gift bag bedding.  As you can see in the pictures, the rain cloud is able to rotate and twirl to better add to the effect of a rainstorm.

The concept of this piece is based on some of my favorite things; glass projects and thunderstorms! I figured why not combine my two loves into one! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do! It was such a fun project to work on.

If you are interested in seeing more pictures and details on the construction of this project, I have a write up of it in my blog:
http://sparklysharpandfabulous.blogspot.com/2011/09/stormy-glass-mountain.html

Thank you for looking! I'd love to hear what you think about this! Smiley

19  Yummy Slow Cooker Pineapple Chicken in Recipes and Cooking Tips by Sparkly Sharp Fabulous on: August 30, 2011 07:51:59 PM
I swear Pinterest is going to make me fat! Every day I feel like I am constantly repining recipes that look SO good, and aren’t particularly healthy. But that’s ok, my limited baking skills prevent me from actually making (and eating) everything I see.

One of the healthier finds I’ve been fortunate to come across, is this recipe found here: http://pinterest.com/pin/144350318/ which I have adapted and altered just a little bit. Here is my version of it prepped and ready to go:

If you want the instructions, measurements and exact details of what I did, I have it listed in a mini tut here : http://sparklysharpandfabulous.blogspot.com/2011/08/yummy-slow-cooker-pineapple-chicken.html

I just served my Yummy Slow Cooker Pineapple Chicken over a heap of fresh white rice and some steamed veggies. I wanted to get more pictures but it was flying out quicker than I could set it on the counter long enough to take a good picture. It made the whole house smell soooooo good!

Thanks for looking! I hope you try this! It was soooo easy and absolutely delicious!

20  Reconstructed shirt into home organizer! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Sparkly Sharp Fabulous on: August 28, 2011 05:05:32 PM
I hope this is in the right category, if not let me know and I'll move it!

I needed a space I could put the plastic bags that I get from the grocery stores, my kitchen linens and towels, and any other bags like the ones you put fruit in, or oversized plastic bags from wherever else. My solution? Put them in a shirt!

It may not look like much, but it really holds a lot! Take a look at how I have it categorized:

I really like this, and I'm sure you creative ladies (and guys! all 4 of you....) can reuse this concept for other creations in the future. If you want to see more of the details and process of creating this, I have a mini tutorial for reference: http://sparklysharpandfabulous.blogspot.com/2011/08/reconstructed-shirt-into-home-organizer.html

Overall, it gets the job done, and doesn’t take up any of my precious counter space! Can’t complain about that! Plus, I feel better for still doing a mini project on such an incredibly lazy feeling Sunday! Thanks for looking! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
