1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Earcuff TUTORIAL!!! (on BIG demand) on: February 10, 2014 01:05:15 AM
Hi!
I know this topic was from a while ago, but I recently noticed someone had used on of these pictures in her deviantart gallery. As many of the other pictures were stolen off other websites, and deviantart hasn't done anything so far, I thought I should let you know.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Can you dye a swimsuit? on: July 26, 2012 12:41:10 PM
I've heard that the nylon/synthetic fabric is hard to dye? I'm not sure what the fabric is, but it's synthetic anyways.
My problem is that a friend of my mom's made me two swimsuits, because it's impossible to find anything my size (30F's do not exist where I live ><).
And... the colors are honestly awful. One of them is a nude/skin color (same color as my skin >< It looks really bad if you look at it from far) with a band of bright orange across the stomach. And the other is the same beige as those orthopedic shoes grandmothers wear.

It's not like I can just buy another, and I really appreciate the work put into them, so is there anything at all I can do?
Thanks!
3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Bath salts or scrub? on: January 25, 2012 10:46:06 AM
I just made some bath salts- then realised I had made it with normal salt, instead of epsom salt. Can it be used as bath salts, or should I just rename it as a scrub? Thanks Smiley
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help with making a pendant? And how to finish wood? on: January 11, 2012 10:45:28 AM
Uhh, I was thinking about real wood actually. Never mind.

I have another question- how can I finish the wood so the copper doesn't tarnish and the wood is protected from water? What should I use? Thanks Smiley
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help with making a symbol? on: January 10, 2012 10:54:52 AM
I thought about it, but, well, I sort of want to make something... precious looking? Not gemstone precious, but... natural materials, simple... oh I don't know how to explain...
I know, I'm difficult, sorry ><
But for some reason (totally different method, my brain is strange, lol) reading your post made me think of embedding copper wire in a circle of cherry wood I found in the garden. Still have to figure out how to do that though, and I've no idea...

I cant find any fimo or polymere clay, I live in french suburbs and here you get your drivers licence at 18. The only things I might be able to buy are things like copper from a DIY store, stuff like that.
But thanks for the suggestion.

Hi- so I want to make a pendent with this symbol (with or without the circle around it):
http://www.berberosaharan.com/329-215-thickbox/handmade-amazigh-symbol-pendant-from-algeria-ath-yenni.jpg

And I don't know how. I've done some wire wrapping but I don't think I have the right gauge wire, and besides, I'm worried it will fall apart like it did last time I tried.
I don't mind trying soldering, so long as I only have to use a basic solder iron. I thought about soldering copper wire, but I can't buy any copper solder and don't have metal smithing tools anyways (if any one has any suggestions for how to do this?)
I've made stuff by carving wood, but I think that the branches would be too fragile, besides, the wood I use is from fallen branches)

I don't have many specific tools, and no money to buy much, besides, it's hard to find jewelry making stuff here (and I'm 16 with zero pocket money). I thought about soldering copper wire, but I can't buy any copper solder and don't have metal smithing tools anyways. No resin, no fimo either, and I'm not sur I like the look of beads.

So how can I make something nice on a budget? It's for a present, and I don't have much time-till friday maybe?! Any suggestions would help, please!
Help!!!
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: The first true, completely honest Asian inspired cross stitch kit on: September 10, 2011 03:12:15 PM
This topic is kind of old, but whatever. I just looove this^^

(wonder if I could do it in traditional characters...)
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Kid's cloths? on: August 28, 2011 10:11:28 PM
Just a question to moms/people who embroider on kid's cloths- does it last long? Because I was thinking of sewing "I am a princess!" on a t-shirt, but I'm worried it would come off? Is it still ok to machine wash?  I've really no idea- I've never sewn anything on clothes before.
thanks
If anyone answers, what is stabilizer, and will I need it? Also, would a 4 y old pick at the stiches?
10  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Lets See Pics of Tattoos You Designed! on: August 26, 2011 05:11:57 AM
I really like them ^^
It makes me want one even more, though I have to wait 3 more years
I was wondering, though I don't know if I should ask here, how much would a small (3cm or so) triple moon filled with celtic knots, on my wrist, hurt? And how much would it cost? If it were white (is that possible)? or would blue be better?
I'm thinking about it alot, from seeing so many on the forum Cheesy
