1  Hipster cat in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by CreatingAmy on: September 10, 2011 12:04:53 PM
This is a cat I made for a christmas gift. He's hip, which is why he has a sweater, beret, and scarf Smiley I based him on a cat I saw for sale on etsy, but came up with the pattern myself. As you can see, he's right at home with the philosophy books! (As it happens, I also made the ceramic turtle next to him!)

Thanks for looking Smiley

2  Robots! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by CreatingAmy on: September 08, 2011 03:15:54 PM
Updated to add pics in the post...

Some ami robots I made last year. They are inspired by the book Crobots (don't remember the author, I checked it out from the local library). They were a fun way to use a few bottlecaps from my ridiculously large collection!

Thanks for looking Smiley

3  Sea Creature Mobile in CHALLENGE 66 ENTRIES by CreatingAmy on: September 08, 2011 02:29:01 PM
Finished just in time! I spent most of the month making these little guys, and most of the day today making them into a mobile! I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I've been wanting to make this mobile for a while now, and this challenge not only inspired me to make it but got me to go from a lurker to member & poster!

There are 3 fish, a starfish, octopus, jellyfish, and seaweed. I didn't follow a pattern for any of them, and may actually sell a few of the patterns on etsy in the future. The eyes on the fish are child safety eyes that I hand-painted myself. The mobile is made using a repurposed wire hanger. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but I covered up the strings hanging the smaller wires with more seaweed.

Sorry about the picture quality, I was in a hurry to get them posted.  Grin

Jellyfish - dark blue cap with white tentacles

Medium blue fish

Octopus - purple with light green eyes

Starfish - dark red (bonus: the arms are somewhat pose-able!)

Here are some better pics I just took:
