I finished the dress, my daughter liked it.
sewing clothing is far different then quilting. I learned a lot about drafting a pattern and fitting a garment, far more then I ever wanted to learn.

33  My daughters dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by carolmb on: April 11, 2015 05:34:20 PM
My youngest wanted a lolita style dress, so after looking at a few of the pictures she could find of what she wanted. I went about drafting a pattern and putting it together. I don't normally do clothing. I quilt which is far far different then making clothing. She liked it so that is all that mattered

with my class load this term I haven't finished most of the projects I have started.
Two quilts in the works
One bead bag in the works
One dress for my daughter in the works
I had no pattern, just a few images she had sent me in order to try and come up with something. I had to draft  a pattern which I had never done and go from there
below is out far I have gotten so far. It's in a lolita style?
Still have more layers to put on it. and a bow and whatever else she comes up with lol

36  Small backpack purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by carolmb on: December 19, 2014 03:05:17 AM
Okay so with classes out I have far to much time on my hands LOL I had forgotten what it was like to have time to make thing!!!!!

I had this quilted fabric from way back in the spring. So I figured I would make another bag, this time a small backpack type

It was pretty easy to do I followed this tutorial:
http://u-handbag.typepad.com/uhandblog/2008/03/backpack-bag-tu.html
I did not use the oilcloth, but with regular fabric it came out nice

38  Weeping Angel Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by carolmb on: December 16, 2014 09:12:57 AM
Greetings Everyone,

I had done a weeping angel block earlier in the year before my classes started. So I figured I would make a bag out of her.
It's a messenger bag I followed this tutorial
http://crazylittleprojects.com/2012/09/messenger-bag-tutorial.html

She turned out pretty good for the first time trying one.

Well and wonderment
