Crafting time: Feb 15-April 17, 2016
Date to send item by: April 18, 2016

Limited to a certain number of people? No, but will need to end in multiples of fives, so I may close early to meet this.  If you are waiting to sign up, please stalk the thread to make sure you dont miss out in case it does close early!

Additional Age requirement? No

- Is at least 18 years old: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES

Details of swap:
This is a swap for 12.5 inch quilt blocks*. People will be organized into groups of 5 and will send 3 blocks to each of the 4 other people in their group, for a total of 12 blocks per group. Swappers with excellent swap feedback may do more than 1 group (up to 3). Within each group it should cost about $12 total to send out to 4 people, with delivery confirmation (assuming within the US). Please keep shipping costs in mind when choosing your number of groups.

*If you fall in love with a pattern that yields a different sized block you can use it, up to 14 inches, but be sure to specify the size that it makes so that your partners aren't confused. Also if you pick a smaller then 12.5 block and wish more than the 3 blocks, please make that known in your questionnaire as well.

Everyone chooses their block or blocks that they would like made for them. It could be a specific block with an online link to the pattern or a general type (i.e., pinwheels or appliqued birds). Keep in mind that people of different skill levels are involved, so please don't pick a super advanced block unless you also pick an easier block to go with it.

You will also choose your color palette. That could be a color family, a couple of particular colors, or something as vague as "brights" or scrappy if you want to leave it up to the other swappers' interpretations. You maybe also/instead specify certain fabric patterns if they are vague enough, like plaid, stripe, polka dots, etc. Try to only be as specific as you need to be so that people can work from their stash as much as possible.

You must use 100% cotton fabric and press your seams as you put your blocks together, unless your partner(s) have specifically stated otherwise.  Most who take part in this swap are pre-washers, if unsure ask your group to make sure all fabric is washed or not washed.

A couple of the galleries to get ideas

Measure your blocks before you send them out! They need to be 12.5 inches square. Send all squares in a Ziploc style bag for protection.

Newbies are not allowed in this swap because there are multiple send outs.

Please make sure to post in this thread to keep up with swap announcements. You will not be approved until you have posted here.

Please do not sign up until you have decided on your pattern and colors.  If you just want scrappy or sampler blocks, please specify that.

Communication is very important to me! You must pm your partner(s) and myself when you send out and receive.  There will also be communication among your group: please respond to questions within a few days.

Since this swap is for multiple send outs, I reserve the right to refuse anyone with bad feedback regarding communication and/or late sending.

26  Re: Make Me A Purse/Tote And Fill It!----->GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by carolmb on: January 28, 2016 06:13:56 AM
well am guessing Sarasmile is having some crazy life time. So will post what pics I have of the purse and goodies I sent her. I know she has a ton of swaps coming to an end and add to that family life...it can get crazy!

I only took pictures of the items I made so for the other goodies she will need to post them. and perhaps some action shots....lol

at any rate here ya go peoples

the purse I did was the 241 tote that was on her pinterest I thought it was a great pattern and looked so fun to make.

Then the more we talked the more I knew it needed pockets! so I made a purse insert altered slightly to give it more pockets so she could carry around all the small things she likes to have in her purse.
It ended up having 8 small pockets, 4 on each side, two med size pockets, one large, two ex large zippered pockets and one xxl pocket in the center with snaps that she could use to close it if she didn't need that much space.

I also did a earbug zipper bag that was on her pinterest as well. A sunglass case was one of the things she expressed as needing a place to keep her sunglasses.

and not related to the purse she had expressed liking to collect things with skulls on them and so I did the skull scarf to complete the crafted goodies.

I also sent a day of the dead sugar skull tea light candle base and a very little bull skull magnet (I am in texas after all)
I also ordered and had sent to her some maple sugar candy?!? I could find it no where around me so I went on line and had it shipped to her.

I picked the colors as an alternative for I at first wanted to do fairys, or night before Christmas or alice in wonderland. but I could not find any of those here or in the big city an hours drive from me. So I went with her next comb which was black and white. I thought the teal and gray paired up nicely.

thanks for this swap I did something new putting in snaps and got better at zippers. I enjoyed making the purse and the goodies.

well and wonderment
