I've been thinking about the question more.... and I remember when I was a kid listening to Mannheim Steamroller on cassette in my mom's minivan every year.... and today I happened upon it and was totally taken back to that time... when the holidays were just magic and enjoyment! I hope I give off that towards my kids now!
I don't think I have a favorite Christmas or Winter song... I do have a favorite style though... I love singer/songwriter Christmas songs... Something about Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin singing a Christmas carol puts me in the best frame of mind for the holidays! If you are a Pandora listener search for Thanksgiving Day music and for some reason it turns into a Christmas Singer/Songwriters station that is amazing!
Well I am happy to be making progress son some items!!! And I have now purchased a few little extras! I am really starting to get into the spirit now! I keep forgetting I have to think about Thanksgiving! Opps!
We have an artificial tree as well.... Allergies run in our family and real of almost anything can be hard to have. It's theme is "kid friendly" since we have a five year old and an almost 2 year old!
Only tradition we do have is Elf on the shelf... But who doesn't with little kids!?
I've hit a crafting goldmine of inspiration! I have to take my sewing machine for a repair tomorrow and have been getting as much seen in case they have to keep it for a bit.... Luckily I have some non seen items still to make!
We don't go anywhere on Christmas day anymore. Our girls are 5 and almost 2 and with toys that need to be assembled and all of that we now just stay home and enjoy the day! Usually it's quite nice out so we will play in our culdesac
I finally got a design drawn out!!! I am so so so pleased with it! I just need to pull out some fabric and get going! But my MIL and SIL are going to be here tomorrow and I promised my husband I won't crafty up the house before they get here! Ha ha! But I think I might be able to get some of the "decorating" going while they are here in the evenings! (They get here tomorrow and are already gone first thing Sunday morning... not a long trip)
