23  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / "No one's gonna take me alive!"...a Knights of Cydonia shirt on: August 19, 2009 07:40:51 PM
Hi

I really wanted to make a Muse shirt because I adore them and I found this picture that was art for their song Knights of Cydonia (one of my favorites  Smiley )

and turned it into a shirt! It took around six hours but I'm very pleased with it Smiley

and a close up (the painting took an ungodly amount of time)

and a really bad model shot (the front image looks HUGE when I put it on  Cheesy)

thanks for looking! Smiley

26  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Twilight shirt, Gorillaz Shirt, Drumline bag, and more! *IMG HEAVY* on: January 01, 2009 04:49:18 PM
Hey! I've been a member forever but this is my first completed projects post! I fell in love with stenciling and I hope you enjoy

First, let's start with a Gorillaz shirt I made over summer break
here's the front

and at the bottom on the back here's this

I'm in marching band, and my band director thought to name our show "The Japanese Show" however, when he wanted to get some band shirts made, the shirt making people refused to print them because it was offensive. Cuz duh. It is OBSCENELY racist and that he believed that to be an appropriate title of a show (which was a nightmare of cultural appropriation but let's not get too distracted here with my rage) was nothing short of disturbing and embarrassing. I love band, but my director has a lot of privilege to let stuff like this happen.

So. Me and my best friend thought it was super hilarious so I made two shirts, one for me and one for her, we wore it every time we performed (secretly under our bibs)
the front

and along the bottom of the back is a quote from our genius director (he was trying to describe the show but he just kept on using the word 'ceremonial')

I hope the shirt isn't seen as offensive in any way, it's supposed to be funny

I'm also in drumline, and one of my guy friends wanted a new shoe bag

And last but not least, my Twilight shirt, I used one of my favorite quotes, it's from Eclipse
"Sleep, my Bella. Dream happy dreams. You are the only one who has ever touched my
heart. It will always be yours. Sleep, my only love."
I also liked that it's not the average Twilight shirt quote, if you didn't read the book you wouldn't even know it's from Twilight (I'm trying to keep my obsession undercover XD ) I found the Twilight font on the internet, I can't remember where but it was super easy to find, and if you want it, it's not that hard to find
close up of the words (hopefully the fade from the sides are noticeable)

and a full shot, the heart at the bottom with the rainbow is from another quote from Eclipse
"I examined it cautiously. On the opposite side of the chain from the wolf, there now hung a
brilliant heart-shaped crystal..."But I thought it was a good representation," he continued. "It's hard and cold." He laughed.
"And it throws rainbows in the sunlight."

and a lil close up of the heart- I used a TON of sparkle glaze but, alas, it hardly shows up

thank you for looking! Happy New Year!

Hi there im fairly new to craftster but I absolutely LOVE IT! Smiley

so I'm the kind of person that sees something thats way too expensive and says to herself "Heck, I could make that" so just recently I went to http://www.monjiusa.com/ where they have these awesome watches that looked like they used safety pins or something. I really wanna make a safety pin watch now but I don't know where to look. I would greatly appreciate ANY links to something helpful.  Grin
