1  Totoro Stamp Tutorial :3 in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by Artistically on: April 12, 2013 02:51:55 PM
I think some of you might remember the Totoro Stamp I made before. Today I found my materials ... the rubber gum plate, the carving tools ... so I thought it would be good to make another Totoro Stamp :3

Hope this tutorial gonna be useful for you.

Here you can see the materials I used making the stamp. Instead of the baking paper it is also possible to use parchment paper ... but because I haven't had parchment paper at home I used the baking paper.

First you start drawing a sketch, anything you want.

How the sketch look like, the printing will look at the end, because the carved stamp also gonna be mirror inverted, when you are using this technique.

When you are done with your sketch use some tape to fix the baking paper on it.

Now just copy the lines on the baking paper using a soft pencil.

When the sketch is done, put the backing paper (with the sketch on the lower side) on the rubber gum plate.

Use the back of your pencil and rub carefully over your sketch.

When you are done there will be a copy of the sketch on your rubber gum plate at the end.

When you have made the rubber gum plate smaller (in this way it is easier to carve) use the carving tool, which looks similar to a knife, and follow all the lines before carving. In this way it gonna be easier for you to carve.

Now use your caving tools carfully. Start with the outer parts and at the end with the inner parts ... work slowly and carefully, so your stamp will look good at the end.

Last step gonna be testing and stamping :3

4  Happy Easter Quilling ATC in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by Artistically on: March 29, 2013 03:56:08 PM

It is finished and I am happy how it turned out. This card really took me about 5-8 hours ... but at the end I have to say ... I love it. Again I just make tons of rolls and then glued and glued while I was watching the Ghibli Movies on Television. Because I wanted to have a larger ATC I used a double ATC except of a normal one.

The card gonna be a good way to say Happy Easter and it also gonna be my Easter Gift for my mum :3

I think the next card gonna be my Dodo :3
