I've been totally MIA (lots of 7 days work weeks) but this swap still remains in my mind. Although there are several sqaures from Kazkitty that have not been sent yet (She did not answer my last PM), the rest of the sqaures have been sent months ago, but many never arrived to their destination it appears.
If you could take the time to let me know if you want to remake your sqaures that are "missing", if you want angels for you unreceived sqaures, or just want to be done with this swap let me know.
No matter what, I will give everyone who sent all their sqaures positive feedback, with comments about things not being received. You will get extra feedback if you send squares or make extras as angels.
I'm sorry that this one fell a part a bit. I hope everyone is happy with the sqaures they have got, and are still wanting to make blankets. If anyone feels like tackling a round 2, I welcome it.
I was wondering what winter fairs everyone plans to go to or sell at this winter?
I know I'll be at The Point Grey Secondary School one (November 03) and at the West End Community Center one (November 24 and 25) as a seller. I also want to go to at least one Portobello west between now and then as well at the Brittania Community Center show, if I can get the weekends off work.
How about you?
(Also, if you're on facebook, I started a group to post craft fairs in and around Vancouver called, what else, "Vancouver Craft Fairs", and would love to see some craftsters join it.
Hey everyone. I've sent out another round of PM's. I know lots of you all staill waiting for sqaures, but all but kazkitty has finished sending out (and kaz is in touch with me) so hopefully they will find their way to everyone soon.
I changed the received list, so that after your name it shows who who are still waiting to receive from. The PM's I sent out were asking everyone to update me on if you've received or not and just for got to let me know.
I also updated some feedback for people. I know many of you just want this swap to be over, so you can put your blankets together, enjoy them, and move on.
I like your fibers a lot star, and I only have three suggestions, which are all really picky.
It would be nice if the writing on your banner was a higher resolution - it's a bit pixel-y now, rather than smooth. Also, your batts seems a bit small to me in terms of getting a good usable amount of yarn spun up. Having the option of larger quantities would be great (I do see 3 oz of roving, so maybe you usually do have larger batts too.) Last one could be adding some consistancy of in your first picture of each listing. Like have all the batts positioned the same way, and on similar backgrounds. That's super picky though and I couldn't see it affecting your sales.
Blogging is super fun once you get into it. It's all about finding a style of post, and getting into the habit of posting consistantly.
Finding more unique layouts is a good way to set yours apart a bit, or even just changing the colours of the basic ones. Also, add a statistics bar (I use hhtp//www.statcounter.com becasue it's free and invisible with good info) can help you keep track of where people are finding your blog and how many visits it's getting.
We have a website that directs to etsy and our blog. It's a great central place to refer people that's easier to remember should I happen not to have a card on me. It's also where we tell people what fairs we'll be at, who we are, and all about custom orders. I much prefer the website along with etsy than just etsy.
bixby, I just hearted you becasue those fibers totally make me want to fix my wheels (yes, I have two).
I've just been lurking here and reading. I've just got back to etsy selling with a few other people in a collective shop. No sales from strangers yet, but we're still posting items up. We're pretty happy with the numbers of views and hearts so far. We're doing some fairs this winter, so I hope that will help spread our etsy shop a bit.
Also, we're thinking of doing a Sampler submission. Have any of you done it? Did you find it successful? Would you do it again?
I share this shop between a a few friends (we even met on Craftster!) and most of the work is done as a collaboration. Our etsy shop is new, but new items are going up daily, and we are having an opening promo (free gift with purchase).
