1  Re: AND It all Started with the BIG BANG THEORY SWAP!!!! GALLERY in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by capnstubtooth on: March 21, 2012 06:34:02 AM
I received a great package from rantyhippie on monday.
First up is this great tiara, so I can have my own "princess Amy" moment.

Next is a beautiful scarf inspired by Sheldon.

I also received this cute bookmark.

I really love this cross stitch she made me of the whole BBT group.

And last but not least, some fun extras. Howard's tattoo sleeves and glowing fish

Thanks so much Rantyhippie for a great swap. Hope you like what I sent as much as I like what I received!

I recently got some cross stitch pattern books from the 80's and when I saw this tea set pattern I instantly thought of my favorite folk duo from New Zealand Smiley

4  Re: One Tiny Doctor Who Thing Gallery in The Swap Gallery by capnstubtooth on: February 09, 2012 11:20:28 PM
I received from Honeybone! I love everything so much, thank you! Please forgive the not so great pics, my camera is packed away (I'm in the middle of a move) so I had to use my phone. As soon I find the camera I will add better pics.

Okay first was this awesome Silence box

Next were some very tasty sweets (they are almost gone already)

An awesome cross stitched 11 needlebook

Next is this beautiful ring (the picture does not do it justice). If you can't tell is an image of River,10, and Donna.

Then there was this friendship bracelet. It is suppose to represent the TARDIS going through space. It's very pretty, I wish the picture would show the sparkle in it.

And finally these blue rose earrings. I LOVE these so much!

I really can't narrow down a favorite, thanks again Honeybone!

Next up is the awesome shrine she made me

For the holiday decoration she sent me the coolest garland ever and it's now hanging by our menorah  Grin

and now get ready for a ton of pics because she also sent me a jewelry box full of goodies!

also in the box was this keychain

and lastly an action shot!

I love love love everything! thanks for making my first swap so fantastic. I'm glad you like everything you received and that the glasses made it in one peice, I was very worried about that.

6  Have you tried turning it off and on again? in Needlework: Completed Projects by capnstubtooth on: November 02, 2011 09:53:53 PM
My husband and I are massive IT crowd fans so when my grandma recently gave me her cross stitching materials (she decided that 86 is a good age to retire her skills  Wink) I knew I wanted to make Roy's pixel person. No pattern was necessary since pixels translate so well to cross stitch. This was my first cross stitch piece in about 13 years (I was 8 or 9) so I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

7  Halloween Tree in Needlework: Completed Projects by capnstubtooth on: October 09, 2011 11:32:58 AM

Here is my Halloween Tree, inspired by the book by Ray Bradbury. It's been a favorite book of mine for a long time, but i just got around to stitching something up.

I didn't use a pattern just started stitching and kept going til it felt finished  Cheesy
I used cotton floss on felt, i like the texture of the peice this way. Thanks for looking Smiley

8  Shaun of the Dead,Clown, and Rag doll childrens costumes in Halloween Costumes by capnstubtooth on: August 18, 2011 07:12:55 AM
I got a really early start on costumes this year, so both of my daughters' outfits are done. My youngest wanted to be a clown, mostly because she knows her dad is scared of them. I made her a tutu and vest and attached a tulle flower to the vest. I then made her a rainbow yarn hairpiece and she topped it with her favorite hat.

My oldest daughter wanted to be a rag doll " like sally but not sally" (she is very picky). I used scraps of all her favorite fabrics in my stash to make a jumper and then made a yarn wig for her. The hat was made by a friend.

This was the first time they put the costumes on so by halloween I'm sure there will be changes made and the make up will be much better Smiley

ok adding my son now. originally he was going to be yoda but he didn't like his costume, think it was just uncomfortable so instead he is Shaun from Shaun of the Dead (only much cuter Wink)

9  For the love of 30rock in Needlework: Completed Projects by capnstubtooth on: August 18, 2011 06:41:42 AM
This piece was inspired by 30rock and the song Werewolf Bar Mitzvah. My hubby is huge 30rock fan and with Halloween not too far away, I couldn't resist. I sketched this up and had the stitching completed about two hours later. Hubs was thrilled  Wink
