Thats too cool. Smiley
I have yarn! The pictures are kinda icky but it shows the color pretty well. Its some art roving I pullef during nap time and spun a couple days ago. I've been calling it Rarity (like from My Little Pony) because of the color and sparkles. Its got merino, alpaca, angelina, mohair curls, and the blue is firestar. Smiley Im spinning some 100% alpaca to match so I can make a shawl with it.

Oh my gosh that merino looks AMAZING!! I want to squoosh it. Tongue
I've actually been spinning a lot lately, and have had some spare time to experiment with all the alpaca fleece I have. I was aiming for fluffy and crazy so i just grabbed piles of uncarded fluff and spun from it. Turned out awesome and very soft.

And a tamer version

Here are the batts I got in the fiber swap, spun into singles. Love the sparkles!

And finally a two ply merino, started as a roving that i dyed.

Being a stay at home mom is certainly giving my wheel a workout! Smiley

Houston, we have yarn!!  Grin I went a little nuts with the thick and thin, theres two skeins, about 80 yards total. And this stuff is bulky with a capital B. Lol.
The picture isnt that great but I was too excited about it to wait for good lighting. Smiley

Haven't seen a fiber friday thread yet, but i finally have yarn to share. Smiley Its wool/alpaca with some sparklies thrown in.

Ive been working on this for a while. It ended up an ombre-style chain ply, fading from red-orange to yellow.

9  Re: First Fibre Friday of 2014 - Jan 3 in Spinning: Completed Projects by Rodelphia on: January 04, 2014 05:47:12 AM
Hey all! Haven't been around in a while, thought I would post some fluffy fiber i made up over the holidays. The black, teal, and purple was a trial run with making blended roving on the hackle i made and the sparkly pink was done spinning cloud style for my sister's christmas present. They're both wool alpaca blends and super soft. Smiley
I added a couple pictures from before I pulled it off, the pink turned out the best. I'll be making more clouds for sure!

Hey all! Haven't been around in a while, thought I would share my project this week. Alpaca fiber! I bought some raw from a friend and have been working on getting it cleaned up.
Here is the unwashed fleece.

Here is dried and starting to comb it.
And here it is pulled into roving!

Its a lot of work, bu totally worth it. Smiley
