1  First Handbag Attempt in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by halohalodesigns on: May 05, 2014 02:40:42 PM

Drafted my very first bag pattern and tested it out.  Made a few mistakes on the way which I noted on my blog post.  I also put up a tutorial on how to install an inner zipper pocket.

You can find the post here: http://merrymeddlings.blogspot.com/2014/05/inner-zipper-pocket-tutorial.html

3  Infinity Dress With Handkerchief Hem in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by halohalodesigns on: May 02, 2014 03:06:08 PM

Hey guys!  A few weeks ago, it finally hit me that I had nothing to wear for this heatwave that's been going through southern california.  And since I'll be going out of town for a week to Hawaii this month, I figured I needed something that would last more than one wearing.  Here's a picture of the dress I made a few weeks ago.  It's an infinity dress with a handkerchief hem, so I could wear it several different ways, in case I didn't get to any of my other projects before our trip ^_^

Thanks for looking Smiley

4  Modified Mickey Mouse Sweatshirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by halohalodesigns on: September 22, 2012 06:56:35 PM

I found this little treasure in the little boy's section of my local thrift shop.  It fit pretty snugly, but I felt like I was choking from the tiny neck opening so I chopped it off so it hangs off the shoulders.  There's two rows of topstitching just around the neckline, a detachable bow brooch which I crafted out of some leftover fabric I had used for my pillowcases here and padded it with the fabric from the hoodie I chopped off.  I also added a few studs to the bottom right along the seam, just because I felt like it.

This was a really quick and easy project, and what's great is that the fabric doesn't fray so it can be left unfinished/raw.

5  Re: [REFASHIONED] Capri pants made cooler for warmer weather in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by halohalodesigns on: September 08, 2011 10:08:53 PM
Thanks Smiley I just cut a straight line across the leg for the shorts, then cut off the seams and cuff from the legs. This left me with 2 rectangles which fit perfectly around my belly, and the other 2 pieces I shaped into 2 long trapezoid-like shapes for the bust. I made a quick sketch of what I did.. hope that helps!

6  [REFASHIONED] Capri pants made cooler for warmer weather in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by halohalodesigns on: September 08, 2011 05:01:58 PM
Hi everyone! I've got another refashion up for you! This used to be a pair of capri pants that I found. But lately it has been way too hot for this kind of clothing, so I decided to cut them into shorts, and I turned the leftover fabric into a halter top. Now I can stay a little cooler while lounging around the house Smiley

Before picture and other refashions can be found on my blog!

I finally finished my yellow floral dress this afternoon Smiley The waist is elasticized as well as the shoulder which is designed to sit off the shoulders.  I paired it with a belt I picked up from the thrift store and the denim purse I finished yesterday.

10  [REFASHIONED] Adventure Time Knit Tee in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by halohalodesigns on: July 28, 2011 03:02:59 PM
Working on a few reconstructions today. Here is a sneak peak of one my creations Smiley I used 4 different tees for this one. The straps are hand braided using leftovers from the yellow stripe shirt.

This was one of my favorite tees, but it was pretty baggy in certain areas. Plus, its been really hot here lately, and I only have one tank top. Ill probably make a few more of these to solve that problem  Wink
