1  Ruffled Scarves in Crochet: Completed Projects by blue.starlight on: August 16, 2013 03:16:39 AM
My favorite Euro shop in town is closing *sob*sob*sniffle*sniffle* And they're having a massive sale, especially on yarn. Unfortunately, they have only these yarns and the yarn with pom poms (which I can't say I love all that much). Anyway I decided to buy the ruffled yarns since they looked amazingly cute and I was always a little jealous of all those ruffled scarves I see in town (but the cost is stupidly high, if you ask me). Anyway, while I'm watching Roswell so far I made these four:

I'm completely in love with them. I tried using a different crochet method, but I didn't exactly love how it looked. This way, however, is very pretty. I still have some yarn left (okay, more, since I bought 10 skeins per color *blushes*) so I was thinking of maybe combining the colors? I'm not sure, but I do love how these scarves turned out Cheesy

2  My first afghan in Crochet: Completed Projects by blue.starlight on: April 26, 2013 07:51:13 AM
I wanted to do an afghan for so long and when I started searching for a pattern, this one from Lion Brand caught my eye: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kew-gardens-afghan

Anyway, this is what I ended up with:

It's made out of scraps of yarn and some really old yarn I had (well, the yellow yarn close to the border actually belonged to my mom, but since she wasn't using it - not for lack of trying, let me tell you - I decided to add it to my project). I hate that it's starting to curl, though I'm thinking it's because I worked about 52 rows. Way more than what the pattern says. Anyway, I wanted to make it big enough to fit my bed, but I decided against it when I saw how curly it got.

BUT it is comfy and warm. I didn't block it though, since I don't have a board this big and I didn't want to iron it either... I figure it will set once I wash it, though I'm not sure if I should wash it in the washing machine  Huh

3  Candy Cane Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by blue.starlight on: November 07, 2011 03:10:14 AM
I finally managed to complete a knitting project. I found the pattern on Ravelry. It's a free pattern from Lion Brand. I love how it turned out. Hope you like it too.  Smiley

4  Scarves in Crochet: Completed Projects by blue.starlight on: November 07, 2011 03:03:41 AM
I finished these two scarves a while ago but I forgot to take pictures. I really like how they turned out.

This first one wasn't as hard to do as I thought it would be. What I didn't expect was the number of skeins I used for it. It's short, but it took 6 skeins, so I decided to leave it this way.

The second one I found on Ravelry. It's a free pattern. At first I wanted to do only the wristlets, but I thought it would be cool to have a matching set with a scarf. Now if only I could find a similar pattern for a hat (I'm bad at improvising) I'd be very happy Cheesy

Hope you liked them. I bought the yarns for both projects at the Euro shop, each skein for one euro.

5  WIP in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by blue.starlight on: August 18, 2011 05:23:36 AM
Hi everyone! I found this picture on the internet a while back from an 80's edition of Crochet World. I absolutely love it and I want to do it,  but I can't determine the pattern, since I'm very new to crocheting.

Thanks in advance!

Update: Never mind, I finally found the issue at a local flea market and I found the pattern. Can't wait to start on it!

6  Re: Harry Potter - Luna Lovegood Scarf - My Take - PATTERN & CHART ADDED! in Crochet: Completed Projects by blue.starlight on: August 18, 2011 05:15:24 AM
Xenolai, I love the color you chose for your scarf!

I finished the scarf for my mom a week ago, but I didn't have time to post the pictures until now. Here it is:

It was supposed to be two shades of blue, one a lighter color on one half and on the other half a darker shade, but I discovered that the thread I was using was too thin, so I used both threads at the same time. I think it actually looks better than the first one Smiley
