11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: 12 Days of Christmas 2010 First Send out 12/1 Second Send Out 12/8 on: November 20, 2010 08:59:36 AM
Hi guys! Craziness in this household!  We found a pooch and she's such a cute truffle hunter. We found her at the SPCA. She was a stray! We still can't believe it. She's acclimatized pretty quickly and she's even doing "ok" with the cats (far too enthusiastic for her own good). But I have managed to find time to craft and I'm finally making progress on the xs and smalls! Since I seem to be incapable of making something in under 30 minutes, they seem to fall under the small category because of size. haha Smiley  Going to crank out as much as I can this weekend!

In the meantime, here's a photo of the new pooch, Mandy. Well, her full name is Mandybrot Frack (our last name). Named after Benoit Mandelbrot - the mathematician who worked out the equation for fractals. She's also a sausage dog, so she looks like a bratwurst. And ... well, our last name is Frack... FRACtals... yeah. The nerd haze is thick in this household. I can hardly see to type. Grin

Yeah, copying sucks... but I work in the industry and it truly is the way things are. Of course, I do think there's a big difference between a runway competition like this and ready to wear knock offs.

Putting the finishing touches on a medium tonight!  It will be finished, as I had originally planned it. But looking at it, I might want to add a little pizazz to the _________ to give it that finishing touch. Cheesy  Aside from that, I'm working on the smalls for the rest of tonight and every night this week! I haven't done a single xs or s yet! AAAAAAAAAA! Planned them all out, have the supplies, just need to get them going.

This craft swap has been a blessing, especially the past few weeks. We're trying to find just the right dog to adopt and it has, surprisingly, been a bit of a nightmare!  Without turning this into a novel, the dogs on petfinder are not as described, not actually in the STATE (and sometimes country) they're listed in, not available for adoption yet even though they are listed, or already adopted. GAH! And the SPCA is just downright depressing. Been to a few around here. Sad, sad. So I've been channeling my pooch-searching anxieties into crafting. Needless to say, I've been burning through a few projects at a furious pace. heh. Turning the bad into good.

I am hoping by Christmas that we'll find our pooch. Smiley

I'm having extra small and small anxiety! hahaha. Smiley MUST make a stop at the craft store first thing tomorrow morning for resupply. Then, down to some serious XS/S business. MUST make myself put my mediums and larges on hold! GAH! Too tempting!

Been sick this weekend with a cold, but I got a decent amount of crafting done. Got a large started and finished. Smiley  I was feeling a bit bummed this season - I mean, sick on Halloween, no costumes, and there are barely any kids who show up because we're on a busier street. Hubby surprised me and transformed the front yard into a little graveyard with a few really cool tombstones and skull with light up eyeballs. He really lifted my spirits and made my night  Smiley

On the crafting front, things are starting to come together. I really need to get working on my smalls and extra smalls, though, since they're the first things that need to get sent out!!!  I keep wanting to tackle all of the bigger projects first.

Love the pumpkin smilies!!   Grin

I'm sad because the book series I'm reading killed off a character I liked. I don't like where the series is going! So, I'm putting it away and crafting happy things.

What book series??

I feel like I am falling behind.  Ack!  I only have on day completely done.  I only have 4 days that I don't have a decent start on, but I still feel a little behind.  I am waiting for some supplies to come in and still need to pick up some supplies from a friend of mine.  I will no doubt be ready in time, but I may need a few TV on DVD marathons this coming few weekends he he.  I love crafts that I can do while watching the tube.

Don't feel bad MommyTheMaid! I'm in the same boat. True, I've been churning away on some pretty time consuming projects, but I don't think I have a single day finished...a bunch of projects from a bunch of different days. I'm ready for some closure on at least a day!! heh. Going to have to put in some serious hours over the next few weeks, as well. I think I'm going to have a MST3K marathon on Saturday and see if I can crank out a few mediums, or another large. Smiley  Precious crafting time...there is so little of you in my life!

I ordered something fabulous for Montyfull today.  I am really excited about it and can't wait for it to get here.

*waggles eyebrows* I am intrigued Cheesy

On my side, I'm still working slow and steady. Finished something up today and it is so cute. Smiley  I've got another project in the back of my mind, and I'm really hoping I can find all of the supplies for it at a thrift store.  I'm really trying to do a bunch of different things, not all the same type of craft. Pulling all of my skills together for this swap!

Haaahahaha. So I just got a big package of supplies for this swap....hahahahhaaa. I have to say, the fabric I bought for one of my projects is SO GREAT! I really wish I could share it. Cheesy  So. Much. Fun.

Waiting in this ZOO of an airport to go home and I had to send my project along in checked baggage. So of course I'm antsy and want to get it done! Things are coming along slowly but steadily and I'm just appreciating the chance to try out new things...keep myself crafting. Plus mommythemaid's interests are right up my alley so that makes it extra fun. Smiley I just hope I get everything done that I have brewing in my nothin!  And now I can definitely see why shipping will be pricey. Hah. These pile keeps getting bigger and bigger!!!
