1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: dental bathroom on: August 17, 2004 01:45:49 PM
This is the coolest bathroom I've ever seen, way to go. I've been dying to do a mad scientist room forever but this would trump it so badly that I think I'm just going to forget the idea.

The new sushi bag is beautiful!!! I also love that you put sushi fabric just inside the little pocket!

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: Home-made cleaning!!! on: May 12, 2004 08:41:01 AM
Anybody have any concoctions (or know something storebought) that can get ink stains out of leather (car interior)?
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re:skittles bird! on: April 28, 2004 11:42:15 AM

And regarding OCD, I knew I had a problem as a kid when I would sort out all the M&M's or skittles and eat them until all colors were 'even' then eat one color at a time so none would be left out.

Wow!  If THAT"S a sign of OCD then I have (or had) it too.  I used to do the exact same thing with my M&Ms.  Maybe it's just a kid thing?

NO! That is NOT a sign of OCD, Mojo! These people seem to be confused with Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder, or OCPD, which actually is not very highly correlated with OCD. OCD is a serious anxiety disorder characterized by inability to control obsessions and compulsions that cause *marked anxiety* and inability to function normally in everyday life. It is not a cute personal idiosyncracy. OCPD, on the other hand, refers to a personality type characterized by preoccupation with control and perfectionism. You're right about the "kid thing" -- personality disorders are rarely diagnosed until adulthood, and children often exhibit symptoms of many personality disorders! However, it's only after childhood that it can be determined whether it's really a personality disorder, or just normal stages in development.

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re:Culture swap on: March 31, 2004 10:39:16 AM
Heh, kind of like those slam books from when I was younger... Sounds like fun, I would join if you're still looking for people, although I don't live anywhere cool (Indiana). Maybe at the end of the ring you could send the participants copies?
9  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Craft The Vote! / Re:Ideas for Getting People to Vote on: March 31, 2004 08:45:27 AM
Back in 1992 when I was living in Alaska, the local Subway store had a buy one, get one free deal if you showed your "I voted" sticker! I think my boyfriend and I had subs for lunch and dinner that day!

In Oregon, it's all vote by mail, so there's no way we can do that here sadly.

All vote by mail? Call me a political dunce, but I didn't know you guys did that. Is your voter turnout higher/lower than the rest of the country?
