I forgot about this top I made as it was quite some time ago, but I was going through some photos and laughed when I found these.



I handpainted the graphic on using fabric paint on jersey material which I misted with glitter. On the spinach I used fabric paint that puffs up when you iron it to give it a 3D effect, but you can't tell well in the photo. I found this popeye fabric at a goodwill and LOTS of it, I believe I have at least a couple yards stashed away and have no clue what to do with it now. I wish I hadnt taken a photo with the waist at the smallest measure because it overlaped, but the size was kind of a one size fits most.

I finished this just in time for the new school year from a pattern I found for free here: http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/2011/07/1-2-3-sew-free-pattern-giveaway/ It was super easy, roomy and fun to make. I didn't use the bamboo batting the pattern called for, I used Insul-Bright batting instead.

and it was well worth it as the directions are so complete and it's a style worth repeating. Including the price of the pattern, the supplies cost around $25. Not bad.

This was so much fun to make! The hen was originally suppose to 'lay eggs', but I left it out. Although, now I think the idea of it laying eggs is what really made the toy, especially since the chicks are small enough to fit inside plastic easter eggs. I plan on making another one in the future and will definately not leave that out. I found and bought the pattern from ikatbag.com

This is the first bag I've ever made, it's from Amy Butlers Birdie Sling pattern. I used Amy Butlers soul blossom print. It's definately not a bag I want to carry around everywhere with me. It's much bulkier than I imagined, because of the fusible fleece. Probably better used as tote or carry on type of bag. The pattern was easy enough to follow for a bag newbie though.
