2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Probably a stupid question but I've only started sewing last night! on: July 20, 2011 04:25:34 PM
So for the past week I've been helping out at our church's VBS (Vacation Bible School) I along with another lady are in charge of crafts, well before all the kids came in to start doing there crafts we started talking and she was telling me how she had a craft business. She was telling me all about how she makes these "Crayon Totes" (a small tote-bag with slots at the bottom for crayon's and inside the bag goes a coloring book). Cute right? well she said she would come over and show me how to make them as well so I could get my own business going which she did and I pretty successfully completed my first tote! Well here comes the issue i'm running into she wrote down directions and I payed attention to how she was helping me put it together but I've only started sewing last night and I don't know ANYTHING about it. So when it came down to trying to put together a second one today I was completely frustrated. How do I place the fabric on the interfacing? right side up or wrong side up? I did right side up and i don't think that is right because when I sewed the two sides of the bag together the seams were all showing so i ripped all the stitching out and am going to try again tomorrow.
