21  Re: Frozen Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by BigBangMomma on: April 03, 2014 05:08:39 AM
I was partnered with the lovely Audania1, and she crafted an amazing package for my 8 year old daughter who's adopted Frozen as her favorite movie! Elsa  is her favorite, and my biggest hugest wish was that someone would be willing and able to sew  her an Elsa ice queen dress. I can sew, but that was a project I didn't want to take on, and Audrey oh my goodness, it's amazing... let me show you with pictures:

The Front:

Check out the cape on the back, it's just as amazing as a wedding dress train:

She's wearing a shirt under it because it is a bit big. My daughter is very tiny, and I told Audrey that she wears about an 8, but that we had found an Anna dress in a size 10 so she can grow into it. So, Audrey followed the size 10 pattern for her to grow into.

Thank you so much! She looks beautiful, and she loves it and so do I.

But, that isn't all! She made that amazing dress, and then included a wire "ring" so that she can throw snowflakes around, the Wandering Oaken and Sauna sign (we all love  it...such a great idea, and so creative!), and some snowflake hair bows.  She's got very thin hair, so the clips are the perfect size.

Now photos:

Thank you so much!!

Details of swap:

The OTST swap  runs like this:  You make ONE craft,   in any medium and/or theme of your choosing. You may begin crafting as soon as you sign up, or before. You will have a 2 week crafting time after sign ups close, as well, to make the craft to the best of your ability.  Your craft must follow the guidelines of a tiny crafted item, being no more than 4x4x4. You can create a paper craft, a yarn craft, a clay craft, jewelry craft, etc, anything you want to, as long as it is ONE TINY THING.    You will have no idea who your partner is, until "Address Time", which will be at the end of the crafting period.  And then you will only know their Address and proper name.  I will do my best to match up partners based upon allergy restrictions and craft wishes, but please remember that this is essentially a "surprise" swap so no information other than a real name and address will be sent out to you. The fun and purpose of the swap is receiving a completely random craft in the mail!

Swap Rules:
~ You must post at least once  in the thread BEFORE being accepted into the swap  to insure receive updates on this swap. Posting a minimum of once a week is a requirement of this swap.I reserve the right to deny participation to swappers with a history of poor communication and late sending.  Updates and reminders will only be posted in the thread, so keep an eye out for the Organizer note headline.

~ You are required to check in to me, BigBangMomma, via pm (private message) between the dates of April 17-19 ONLY.  Anyone who has not checked by 6:00PM EST on April 19th will be dropped from the swap and will not receive an address to send to.

~ DC# confirmation is required for all senders in the USA.  Willingness to ship internationally is a requirement for this swap.  Keep in mind, you are crafting whatever suits YOUR INTEREST, so don't let cost detour you from signing up. If you craft something lightweight and relatively flat, even if your partner is international, it should be relatively low-cost to ship.

~  You are to send Only ONE TINY THING to your partner. NO EXTRAS.

24  100s Day Crochet Chain in Crochet: Completed Projects by BigBangMomma on: February 21, 2014 06:33:42 AM

I saw on Pinterest the idea to crochet a paper chain. So I decided to make one for 100s day for my son's kindergarten teacher. There are 10 each of black, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. That makes 80, so the remaining 20 are the multi colored ones. Like a  paper chain, they vary in width and length a bit.  For sturdiness, I mostly used Red Heart yarn, and a little bit of cotton yarn.  They connect with sticky back Velcro.  Some of the Velcro I had a bit of trouble with sticking to the yarn when it was opening and closing, so I sent in some extra Velcro she can use to repair chains as needed.  I thought she could use this for math (counting/10 frames, etc) and colors, and all sorts of fun things!  It measures to about 21 feet long, I believe!

I received the  most amazing package from abbeeroad!  When I signed up for this swap, I had the sudden desire for a metal stamped bracelet. I'm not sure why exactly, as I've never really wanted one before. I wasn't in a million years thinking I would get one...but, I did!

Check it out in my action shot:

It says "What happens is best for this moment"

And not only that, she and I both love mountains, and she sent me a mountain fabric cuff:

Thanks so much! I very much enjoyed swapping with you!

26  Re: Inchie My Theme Round 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by BigBangMomma on: February 15, 2014 01:47:29 PM
Although I sent to jesskelly at least a week before she sent to me,  it appears I received first. She sent my winter wonderland and crafting with yarn themes. I really love the embossed and the yarn ones.

I'll go on a regular computer later and rotate them.

Thank you!

Bradley832 received from me  a week or so ago, and hasn't had the chance to post them, so I'm going to go ahead and share.   Since I've had a lot of fun with the perler bead inchies (**spoiler alert for jesskelly**) so all my partners are receiving some version of the perler beads.  I started out with just one perler bead inchie each  (FYI, it's a group of 5x5 beads to make an inch) but once I saw many of you doing groups to make a bigger picture, which I was trying to stay away from, I decided to make groups, which is why my partners all got so many more than just 10!

Here are all the inchies for him. I added some from his bees theme an his clocks theme (my favorite). I really like the Big Ben one I did. I don't think I took a closer up picture than this one for the lot of them.

Unassembled:

Assembled they make the Harry Potter Hogwarts crest! Fun, huh?

I received yesterday from both Bradley832 and NH822.  They both chose my "cute monsters" and "Big Bang Theory" themes, as well as my "Winter Wonderland" theme.

Here they are:

First, from NH822:

My favorites are the hand-drawn Sheldon (so cute) and the Soft Kitty one.

And, from Bradley832:

I really like the snowflake ones. Those blues are my favorite colors for winter-time.

Thanks for crafting for me!

29  "Even the penguin warms up by the fire!" in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by BigBangMomma on: February 06, 2014 04:42:51 PM
I'm still fairly new with polymer clay, but I knew I wanted to play with it for my partner in the one tiny surprise thing swap. I forget exactly how much this measures, but it's smaller than the required 4" sq or less for the swap.

Thanks for looking!

30  Re: 4x6 Art Swap Rd 7 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by BigBangMomma on: February 03, 2014 01:56:00 PM
I received today from both my partners--KittyHerman and kwality570!  Both pieces are so amazingly beautiful! I can't wait to frame them and hang them up!!

I have two partners because KittyHerman's check in got lost in my inbox  (two swaps with check in/send out days back to back) and so I thought I had to drop her from the swap. Then, I posted partners, and she reminded me that she did in fact check in. I felt awful! She we agreed that since luckily I had a second piece already made, and it was entirely my error, I'd add her back to the swap, and we'd send to each other.  The two pieces I had made are completely different from one another, so when she receives, I hope she likes it.

So, Kitty Herman's piece is the panda on top, and she's called it "Don't Worry, Be Happy."  I love love love him!!

I've been ogling kwality570s monsters every chance I get, and we've yet to be partnered together. So, I knew I had to take the chance while I had it to receive one of her adorable monsters. I love it. So pretty!!

Thank you so much ladies!
