141  Easiest pattern in the world- Kwik Sew Hoody in Sewing Pattern Reviews by rangerbeth on: September 29, 2005 07:43:09 AM
This pattern gets 5 freakin stars from me. Its Kwik Sew (maybe 2269?) and its a unisex hoody/sweatshirt. Well, it took MAYBE an hour, from pattern cutting to snipping loose threads. It fits well and was so easy to assemble. I would suggest this as a first pattern for anyone new to this because its made for the sewing illiterate. I am going to add a kangaroo pocket in the front later, its not in the pattern but I think a hoody isn't a hoody without one. I'm considering using the hood lining fabric for the outside of the pocket, and the jersey for the inside. What do you think?

The lining is offwhite with cute little strawberries and the hoody is teal/green. (The colors may be a little off in the pictures)

142  McCall's 4872 Easy T-shirt pattern Need neckline suggestions in Sewing Pattern Reviews by rangerbeth on: September 26, 2005 02:57:03 PM
I found some McCall's patterns for 99c yesterday and gobbled up as many as I could. I have never used a pattern for clothing before so I made sure to get something that had EASY written all over it. Well, I made option B which is just a t-shirt and it came out way too long and the neckline is sort of weird. I really don't want to just tuck it under and hem, but I don't know what else to do. I guess I could cut it  V-shaped and cinch it with elastic or something, but I really wanted to have a t-shirt like neck to it. Could I do it the same way I added the bands to the bottom and sleeves? I'm REALLY new to this so break it down for me. Thanks!

Prepare to be jealous. Yesterday I received my package from Amyshrugged. I'm not sure which craft was learned, but they are incredibly well done and exceed all my expectations. Here is my incredible loot including: handmade life aquatic postcards, a HAND BOUND (so much talent) journal featuring Royal Tenenbaums quotes, a stencilled crayon fish shirt (very cute), and an awesome Team Zissou membership card (notice the hat on my craftster icon!

I also got an adorable red flower button barrette margo style, but didn't get a picture of it (its in my hair as we speak!) Thank you thank you thank you Amyshrugged!

145  Re: Bike Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by rangerbeth on: June 19, 2005 10:24:49 AM
I got my goods this weekend from Sarah. It was a shoebox (of size 4 1/2!!!) full of goodies. I got a tote bag decoupaged (didn't know you could do that) with various items including a plastic fork.  Very creative, and a pin, some red shoelaces, a mini bottle, a contact lens case and a small box (? was this supposed to open or is it something else? I can't open it and i was afraid maybe it got damaged in the mail or something). Thanks again.

Nabbymac, yes, I did make it myself, which explains why its sort of choppy and probably not cut in the correct places.  But it came from this image:

150  Re: come one! come all! post pics of your tattoos! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by rangerbeth on: September 13, 2004 07:43:05 PM
Those tattoos are ALL amazing!
Retroeva:  I LOVE LOVE LOVE your tattoo.  What inspired that design?  I have been considering a cherry blossom tree across my back.  All I have now is my sweet little chococat located right under my hip.

Its sort of blurry and there is nothing wrong with his head, I'm not sure what happened to the pic.
