So after a bit of a hiatus from crafting and Craftster due to life getting in the way and leaving my craft supplies the other side of the planet, I'm back with a new craft, and loving it. Paracord suvival bracelets, if anyone wants the links to the videos I used to learn to make these just ask.  Smiley

4  Fabric psychedelic mushroom foraging basket in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Acherontia Aether on: December 04, 2011 06:38:57 PM
I got my sister into foraging but she has been using plastic bags which are not good for mushrooms. So I had the idea to make her a fabric mushroom foraging bag for Xmas. She's also into Psy-trance so I tried to make it a little psychedelic. In mushroom books they always say to separate the mushroomns if you are not 100% sure so as not to contaminate the other mushrooms but I have never seen a basket with compartments used for foraging. So the idea was to make a fabric basket that was easy to put in your pocket and also had compartments.

Apologies for the messy loose threads it's 2:30 here and I just finished it! I will tidy it up in the morning, but ATM I'm just please to have finished it! It's also my first go at freehand machine embroidery (which is also applique). You can't see more than 2 mushrooms at a time so I've included the panels before I made them into the bag.

Right I recieved today and just finished uploading pics of my bumper package, it's huge! I love all the things lunaholic made, and the amount of work gone in is immense! Thank-you so much, again I really hope yours does turn up eventually.

My absolute favourite thing, I can't take them off! Grin I need to learn how to make this scale effect.

Hood/cowl, so I can stare fitfully into the distance. Cool

Slouchy hat also massively love this. Grin

Crazy cool cowl, with a multitude of options on how to wear it.  Cheesy

Steamy leg warmers also with handmade buttons! Cheesy

Chest armour, love it! Grin

Zombie top! Shocked

Green leather waist belty wrap, very back to nature. Smiley

Lot of other wonderful things, leather choker and cuff, neaklaces, made button and haloween decoration, the terracotta and sea stone bracelet is another top favourite. Grin

Oops forgot the yummy looking biscuits! The note card was super awesome. Cool

This will all look even better on so I'm working out how I'm going to wear it all for the main pics. I will need more than one outfit to wear all these goodies! Wink

I do feel massivly guilty that I didn't track the package, just I don't usually track and it doesn't go missing, it's pretty rare. Just sods law it has to happen to my first make.

8  Blackcurrant cake and Elderflower vodka in Dessert by Acherontia Aether on: August 03, 2011 01:52:01 PM
Just made blackcurrant cake, so simple! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/recipes/3298629/Readers-recipes-blackcurrants.html
Trying not to eat it all before DH gets back. Lips sealed

Perfect with a glass of Elderflower vodka with tonic and Borage. Just filled a jar with Elderflowers and vodka and left it for at least a week.

As you can tell I like homegrown and foraged food. Cheesy

I'm already doing this too, my mother-in-law loved her mousey doorstop. There is one person that I really dont think will want something handmade so unless I have a genius idea they wont get something made. Sad

10  Re: The Ongoing Poppet and Punkin-Along in Craftalongs by Acherontia Aether on: July 29, 2011 03:34:08 PM
I will! Cheesy The word originates from the river but is also the genus of the deaths head hawk moth (my favourite moth, and I love moths), but I have changed the specific to aether, making up my own sort of magical moth. It irritates me that I capitalised the aether by mistake, it should not be capitalised in Linnean nomenclature.

Thanks for the help, I have until Xmas to work it out. I think my lil sis is just crying out to be made into a poppet as a pressie for her!  Grin
