Am I the only person who has NO idea what you guys are talking about? lol

They're talking about the brown purse leelee received.  A craftster named tinafish created and posted a tutorial for that purse (here)

Great stuff leelee!!  What did your FOC line the tinafish bag with??

The inside is lined with the printed fabric from the clutch and vice versa!

I got my package!  Don't worry FOC - I don't think I could do anything on time if my life depended on it...

Thank you for the fantastic tinafish hobo!  I love that I get to decorate it - it's my weekend project!  The clutch is perfect and I adore the bracelets!  Thank you, Thank you!

sorry - work has been crazy mad today!

so this is so easy on csi - you just piece together the clues and you secret foc will be so obvious.

clue 1 - likes to use 2 envelopes
clue 2 - likes to write with red marker
clue 3 - handy with a paint brush
clue 4 - super at marble magnets

that narrows it down to .... stifflersmom?

anyways - thank you, thank you!  i love the box and the magnets are perfect.  now i just have to figure out what i want to do with the extra fabric....
6  UNITED STATES / Missouri / Re: Kansas City First Friday on: March 24, 2006 11:05:47 AM
jic you are still looking for info - here is what i found.  this sounds fantastic and i am hoping that next weekend will be warm!

What Exactly is "First Friday?":
On the first Friday of each month, the Crossroads Community's art galleries, studios, and restaurants open their doors to showcase local and national artists. Much like the already established First Fridays of Phoenix and Houston, Kansas Citys version hosts a free evening of art entertainment where people gather to enjoy local and national art, the company of others, and even a free glass of wine.

Location:
The Crossroads Community is a mile wide downtown area of Kansas City bounded by 15th St., I-35, the Freighthouse district, and Troost Ave. The heart of the Crossroads Arts District lies long 20th St. and Baltimore.

Gallery Information:
The Galleries open their doors to the public and have free admission from 7-9 pm. Some galleries not to be overlooked include the The Blue Gallery (19th and Grand), the Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art Gallery (20th and Baltimore), Cube at Beco (19th and Baltimore), and the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center (20th and Main), which all offer something for every kind of art lover-- from appreciator to serious connoisseur.

Just a Tip:
Many restaurants in the Crossroads offer appetizer and drink specials on First Fridays. Most like
The City Tavern (101 W 22nd) who opens up their patio to First Friday goers whod like a glass of wine or a quick snack (spinach and artichoke dip is a FF fave) before heading off to the next Gallery. Its next door neighbor, Lidia's, offers up an ample array of Italian appetizers (think quick fired calamari or bruchetta) as a place to meet up with friends.

Nice Weather?:
First Fridays, while held throughout the year, are not to be missed during the warm summer and fall months. Its this time of year that the whole city gets into the swing of things and the crowds spill out into the streets with street vendors and bands adding to the cultural mix.

great job!  my guitar is so dull and plain - now my head is reeling with ideas!
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Please answer a survey for my research paper! on: March 16, 2006 06:01:45 AM
they make me happy Smiley

my grandmother knitted, crocheted, quilted, sewed clothes and painted.
my grandfather was a cabinet builder who later in life made tacky painted lawn ornaments (remember those lady bending over ones?).
my father used to draw and paint and has the ability to pick up any musical instrument and play any song and doesn't know a single note!
his sister is the scrapbook queen, she made all the decorations for my wedding, sews, knits, ...well she does most anything.
my mom used to have a craft group that met once a month at each others house and the hostess would put on a new craft.
my brother is in construction (giant crafting, right?)
i love to paint, sew, knit, play piano and guitar, really most anything.

so to get to the point - i think it was just something i was raised with.  crafting is a way to make personal things for people - things no one else has.  i love the satisfaction of making something, it makes me proud to look at what i have done.  as far as the praise - i really don't like it, but i'm one of thoses people that is not good at accepting compliments for anything!
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Quick Clutch Purse Swap - Gallery on: March 10, 2006 10:00:50 AM
thanks!  the vegas fabric is from hobby lobby, isn't it fantastic?   just a tip - it was impossible to sew with thread because the sequins kept shredding it but i was able to use the clear plasticy thread and it worked perfect.

yay i found my camera cord so you can be envoius!
look what mandyc sent me!  it is fantastic.  i have gotten so many compliments on it, it is perfect.  it has a zippered top and a pocket inside, she really did a great job.  she also added a dollar inside which saved my life when i was having a diet coke attack (i'm addicted).

and here is what i sent to her, a super lucky vegas clutch.
