1  Espresso and Cream (no, not ice cream! ) edited w/ new pics in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by heykids on: October 26, 2006 05:32:12 PM
* EDITED to include actual photos sorry for the best of puns - I work at Baskin Robbins, so just thought I'd have a little shout out to my ice cream flavors  Cheesy

Specs:

pattern:
-none, I traced a well-fitting shirt for the top and then altered it a gazillion, the skirt is a variation of the circle skirt, but it is slimmer at the hips, and then flares out.

fabric:
- the creamish fabric is some sort of non-cotton polyester (?) from the $1 table at Walmart. It stretches on the bias, but is a woven.
- the black fabric is a remnant from Walmart, feels like crepe, but I don't know what it is. No stretch, but drapes well.

notions:
-6 plastic pearl buttons (the kind with the pre-attached loop)
-black stretch cord for "buttonholes"
-black scalloped lace
-black bias tape

And 'cus no respectable granny would want the world to see her Depends,  Cheesy I also made a slip to go under the dress out of some muslin.

the back's my favorite part! the black sash is part of the dress in front, but it ties to make a bow in the back

oh my... that's a scary picture.  Cheesy

2  Not An Elephantine in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by heykids on: March 05, 2006 04:19:33 PM
Not An Elephantine is not your usual elephantine. In fact, he is not even your usual elephant. Not An Elephantine, born and raised in the last Ice Age, has survived the various climatic changes by hiding out in the freezers of mammoth-friendly folk around the globe.

100% mohair, cotton appliques, plastic buttons.

Now, grown, and fully protected by a 100% baby soft mohair coat, Not An Elephantine feels ready to brave the unexpected, to tread new territory...step into the world outside the freezer.

*Due to the really long, fuzzy mohair strands, Not An Elephantine is not advisable as a toy for really small children.

4  EDITED: (not) a whole bunch of illlustrations in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by heykids on: December 20, 2005 06:56:19 PM
so here they are, all made with a blue "debator" pen (ie, the kind that isn't a ball point or a felt tip, it's roly):

sorry for the not so magical quality, they all had to be scanned in at 72 resolution to be uploaded onto craftster. oh well.
