I work in this really cute little cafe attached to a Yarn Store called the Yarn Garden here in SE Portland.  The coffee and tea is excellent but no one knows about us!  Please come in and knit with me!  We will be having live music this fall to help promote a knitting group.  Come to the Yarn Garden Sipperie at 14th and Hawthorne!

These are some autumn fellas I've made from these pod things I keep finding on the ground.

I've really been wanting to collaberate and share ideas with other "alterers" out there but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of us out there.  I saw a "nonsense alphabet" altered book and it looked like a fun new project and I was wondering if anyone elso would be interested in this.

I just recieved my first confirmation that a package has been sent, so I thought I should get the gallery up and going!  I really can't wait to see everyone's crafty ideas!  I still have several ideas that I just couldn't have ready in time but may have to store in mental memory for round 2.

I've always wanted to make bags, but somehow kinda forgot how to do linings and the such so after a few days of lurking about the purse galleries and posts, I came up with these...

I very recently discovered the joys of plastic resin and this is my first COMPLETED project with it,

I arranged some beads in an inverted dome shape thing meant to hold paint, ( a la palatte) and then poured the resin in.  I painted the back of the pendant black and sealed the thing and strung it up into this necklace.

If there are any other resin users reading this, I could use some tips!

My friend and I decided to do our own little craft swap and this is the little fairy art doll I've made for the alter that I'm going to swap.  I'm so excited about the way she came out I had to post pics although her alter isn't done yet.

here she is a little closer:


I used an old tin spice can for the base of her body, resin and and old soda can for her head, a hinge attaches her legs, and lots of other weird stuff makes her up.

I love Royal Coat glue and sealant! It makes decouge so easy and wrinkle free!  I came across an old, beat up book in my parent's garage and have breathed new life into the beautiful artwork as litlle mobile thingies.
