31  Re: Love your wedding? Then show off your photos here! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by hercuteness on: September 16, 2005 06:47:53 AM
Okay, here goes.  I, too, apologize asd it was hard to pick just a few pictures.

my fabulous stylist had me in these pins all day long in order to create those old fashioned finger waves.

my grandmother took this huge piece of silk I bought and made this gorgeous shawl.  i think you can even see the beads on the end if you look close.

our dressing rooms were next to each other, so i sent a bottle of champagne over to my husband to share with his groomsmen.  i had a bottle with my bridesmaids, too.  it totally helped ease the nervousness.

here's me with my girls.  lots of people balked at my color combo, but loved it.

possibly the best shot of the whole night.  nothing beats that head-in-the-clouds moment right after you get married.

32  Painted Ceramic Bowl (Pics) in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by hercuteness on: August 30, 2005 11:39:51 AM
Here is the second in a series of large-ish projects inspired by the artwork of Beatriz Milhazes.  This bowl was painted for the birthday of my friend who first showed me the artwork.

The original work of art:

33  Re: Tweet Li'l Birdie Gallery in The Swap Gallery by hercuteness on: July 11, 2005 11:56:41 AM
Olive+Orange sent me the most wonderful package.  It arrived today and just look at all the marvelous birdie goodness!

The cutest lil owl stuffie, a much-needed eye mask in green felt, a birdie coloring book covered in gorgeous purple flocked velvet ( i think ).  And a tweedy purse with the sweetest litle finch sewn on.  I have to confess, I know exactly which picture this is from.  I downloaded it myself to use on one of the crafts I was going to send to Olive!  But it didn't turn out.  I'm glad he found a nice home on this awesome bag.

I'm not sure why the owl has a frosted donut, but he's my kind of bird.  Yum!

The coloring book came a with a matching (and ingenious) case of teensy pencils, complete with teensy eraser and sharpener.

Faboulous job, Olive, I love everything!

THANK YOU.

I painted a serving plate for my friend's birthday.  I was stumped for ideas until someone showed me the artwork of Beatriz Milhazes.  So, I broke out the Pebeo and this is what I ended up with.

Apologies for the awful pics.

37  Re: iPod Cozies in Knitting: Completed Projects by hercuteness on: March 25, 2005 07:31:43 AM
So, here's my first post on craftster.  I know it's not a knitted project, but it is an iPod mini cozy.  I'm desperate to knit one for myself and I absolutely must have the holes for the screen and the wheel.  If anyone knows of a good pattern that incudes allowances for the screen and wheel PLEASE point me in the right direction.

My cozy is hand sewn from a pair of old jeans.  I don't have a sewing machine, so it's VERY rough.  My husband said "Hey, that's pretty cool, what are you going to put around those holes to make them prettier?  Are you going to hem them or something?"

Grrrrrr.

I should have put a strap on it, but to make a neck strap from a single strip of stretchy denim is tough.  I cut one fom the bottom of the leg up to the waitband at it still wasn't long enough.  *shrug*  For now I'll just keep it in my pocket until I knit one.

I took the pictures on my little office rock garden.

*crossing fingers*  I hope I posted the pictures right.
