this is my first try at tapestry crochet! there is a lot that could be improved, but overall i am really happy with it! and i learned a lot so i am sure my next one will be better, lol. My plan was to make a laptop cover like the kurt cobain one, so we'll see if i follow thru. lol
this looks more like the actual color, the others are a little dark
now i have to make him a cookie, which will be a pocket once it becomes a laptop cover.
this is my birthday present to ME! a lion hat that i have wanted to make for mooooonths, lol.
i'm so cute, look at my ears, hehe
i ran out of yarn one ear flap short so i have to find the blanket my mom started with the yarn and take it apart, lol. (she never finished the blanket, and i asked. not like i'm gonna go destroy something she made, lol.) but in the mean time, i wear it anyway.
i work at Cost Plus (tho gladly leaving soon, i'm becoming more and more convinced that we MUST support sweat-shop-type labor ) and we have these hideous christmas ornaments that i bought (on sale + employee discount!!) to harvest for the beads! mwa-ha-ha-ha!
sorry about the crapy pics. the point is: pretty as beads, ugly and too HUGE as ornaments, lol.
these had more on the top but i had already started taking them apart when i thought to take pics
i made these by taking apart the 3rd ornament and layering the length of the bottom tassles
well i got the itch. The IF-I-DONT-MAKE-SOMETHING-I'LL-DIE ITCH, lol and i didnt have any idea of what to make, so i made a monster! no pattern, no specific supplies, just make it up and use what you have, lol, YAY!
at first i wanted her to have dredlocks but i like how her felt hair stands up.
thanks all you embroiderers! seeing all the cool things people have made gave me an itch to try! i had this little doodle in a notebook and i thought i'd try to embroider it! the stitches are kinda uneven but i am really just proud of myself for working forever to finish it and not giving up, lol and i did a tree too, cause i like trees.
hehe, i got this photo album at Target on clearence. $4!! jsut cause the loop on the cover is ripped. nothing a glue gun and 5 seconds wont fix, lol. And i got these photos from the center for creative reuse in oakland. which is the coolest place ever! I got them months ago not knowing what to do with them, but knowing they would come in handy eventually. Sooo, i am putting together a cookbook with recipes i loved when i was little and some i like now. And i realized i could use the photo album to slide recipes in. i thought of using paint chips as the recipe cards, but i didnt like the result, then i remembered these photos! so here we go!
but i didnt have any buttons. and the only ones i could find were at Michaels. The colors clashed and they were relatively expensive. But after finding the perfect ones on Ebay, being outbid a million times, and the other auctions not ending for a week, i broke down and bought the ones from Michaels, lol. i used the largest ones and the smallest ones cause i didnt know which would look better. Well the huge ones look too huge, and the smalls too small, lol. so there ya have it. i shouldda waited for ebay or something, but when you get the itch you gotta scratch. that craft itch has been responsible for some of my stupidest purchases. lol
here's a pic. the colors dont actually look this bad, it is partially the camera, lol.
i live in the east bay: pleasant hill, moving to Oakland in Dec. Are there any crafty persons who would want to hang out and craft? i need crafty friends. "normies" look at me weird when i get all excited about the "garbage" that i've found, lol. one person's garbage is another person's multi-colored statue thing, lol
