1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / <---- Frantically Searching for This Discontinued Fabric. Please help! on: August 05, 2012 06:14:21 AM
I am taking a chance to see if someone here may have some of this fabric and would be willing to sell it to me.  Of course, I am short for an item in my shop.

It is from Walmart and I believe it was a clearance fabric.  I checked two stores that still sell fabric and they are out.

Does this look familiar to anyone?

Also, does anyone have any advice for finding  discontinued fabric.  I unfortunately do not have the name of the pattern either.  I know, I suck!

Thanks in advance to those of you that check your stashes! Smiley
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Need Help with Punching a Hole Through Thick Fabric on: February 15, 2012 07:57:50 AM
I need an easier way to punch a hole through multiple layers of fabric in order to insert an eyelet.

I have a leather punch that has multiple sizes but it is technically for leather.

I make drawstring backpacks and I have 40 bags I need to insert eyelets in and it takes quite a while to do one with the punch then scissors to make a 1/4" eyelet fit.

Does anyone have any tricks?

Thanks!
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My New Tote on: July 31, 2011 06:59:32 PM
I fell in love with this fabric and made a nice sized tote bag.  I use it as an everyday purse but it holds a lot.

I had a rubber stamp made and use indelible ink to make my labels.  I named my line after our female Great Dane and the area we live.

4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Where do you buy your woven labels? on: July 16, 2011 11:59:40 AM
I am researching woven labels for purses.  Any suggestions on a reliable source?
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Another 241 Tote First on: July 16, 2011 11:16:03 AM
Thanks Wyrillco for the inspiration!  Your totes are awesome.

I went and purchased Anna Graham's 241 Tote pattern rigt away and made this yesterday.  I am a novice with a curmudgeon of an ancient Brother machine so it took me 5 hours. Yikes,  I have a long road ahead of me.  I was still amazed how well and sturdy this bag turned out!  I loooove the outer pockets for my always hard to find cell and keys.

I spent about $20 on fabric an interfacing at JoAnn's.  I will be waiting for a good sale to make some more.

Where is everyone that sells their bags finding cheap enough fabric to keep pricing in line?
