I'm all finished but I don't think I'll be making it to the Post Office until Tuesday. It's all packed up and ready to go next to my front door though! I'm on top of it!  Cheesy

Okay, being laid up the past few days with a cold has weakened my resolve! I'm in! I'm hoping to be an early sender so having a baby won't mess up my crafting schedule.  Wink

So, if I sign up for this swap, I will totally have to send by mid May as I'm due to push a baby out at the end of May, it would give me two weeks of furious stitching to get done. Would I be able to do it? Hmmmmm.

I'm am SOOOOOOO tempted. SO tempted.

I was kind of swearing off swaps BUT this looks SO awesome and I want to get stitching again! ACK! I'll think about it.
18  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / The ONE baby dress on: April 16, 2011 07:59:39 PM

I don't know what I'm having but I decided to make ONE dress just in case I have a girl. I made the "Itty Bitty Baby Dress" by "Made By Rae"'.

And then of course it just screamed that it needed ruffle bottomed bloomers to go underneath. So I mocked up a pattern and made those.

Even if I don't have a girl, this will make one ADORABLE shower gift.
19  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: How do I make this Nursing/Maternity/Cover/Poncho Thing? on: April 15, 2011 02:09:30 PM
So I ordered two yards of 58" wide ITY stretch jersey knit, I'm hoping that will be light enough as well as stretchy enough, and provide enough fabric... I'll will absolutely post a link to my finished project when I'm done and let you know how it worked out.

In looking at the other fabric designs sometimes it looks like they put two seams on either side of the neckline with two other strips of fabric crossing the grain for that "4 way stretch" thing. It's a bit easier to see in this picture:

That one makes it look like its made from four pieces of fabric, two long for the sides and two shorter ones for the front and the back with a neckline sewed in the middle...

Thanks for the diagram, lol, makes me feel super dumb that I couldn't figure that out. I blame "pregnancy brain".  Tongue

Any suggestions on the proper fabrics for this? Looks light SUPER light weight knit, but rayon/cotton blend or... what do you think?
