21  Re: Jar of Stars Gallery - send by 12/10/2011 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by cloudsnapper on: December 07, 2011 12:05:46 PM
I got my first stars the other day from luvbuggy99. So cute!

A wooden sparkly star, a green perler bead star, a beaded felt star, and a teeny origami star.

Thank you so much! I'm getting a vase to put these all in tonight Smiley

22  Another lolita swap? in New Swap Theme Ideas by cloudsnapper on: December 03, 2011 12:02:47 AM

Would anyone want to do another lolita swap? I didn't get the chance to join the last one. That one had big clothing items, but this one could just have accessories or medium items. One Tiny Thing?
Anyone interested?

23  Round Lolita Headdress or Fascinator in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by cloudsnapper on: December 02, 2011 07:24:32 PM
I just got finished making this headdress for my friend, as thanks for making something for me. We're both into lolita fashion and she needed some cream accessories.

Here's the back. It's a bit big, and I wanted it to be able to go on either side of the head, so I put 2 clips on it.

Here's an idea of the size. A little bigger than I meant it to be but that's all good Cheesy

I really want one for myself now. This is the second one I've made, but I gave them both away. I think I need a pink one and a white one.

If anyone wants a tutorial, I'll write one up and can probably take pictures because I think I'm going to get the lace to make another one tomorrow. It's pretty straightforward, though.

24  Re: Ongoing inchie swap (OIS) gallery AND discussion in The Swap Gallery by cloudsnapper on: November 30, 2011 04:19:20 PM
I just got some awesome flower and teacup inchies from robinpich! The flowers are so cute and different, and the teacups make me thirsty Smiley Thank you!

The scanner messed up the colors a bit. They're more vibrant irl.

Those under the sea ones are really cute! I like the wiggly jellyfish.

Pioneer9 got the inchies I sent her, but she didn't have a way to get a picture of them so I'll post them. The themes were numbers and whimsical creatures or monsters.

26  Autumn Pinecones, or are they artichokes? in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by cloudsnapper on: November 22, 2011 04:37:08 PM
I've been making these the past couple days to make a centerpiece for Thanksgiving. I wish I had discovered the directions on how to make them at the beginning of fall so I could enjoy them for longer!

Here's an idea of the scale. The styrofoam balls were 2.5 inches before I decorated them.

The fabric on the brown one is gilded pinecone print, a Christmas fabric. The lighter orange is a medium-scale pumpkin print with green stems. The multicolored orange one is different colored ears of corn.
I'm going to make some for Christmas next. I'll make another of the brown ones, and I have some red, green, and white large Christmas paisleys that I think will give me interesting results.

The tutorial is here: http://knittygrittythoughts.typepad.com/knitty_gritty_thoughts/2009/11/my-entry.html
Very easy to follow. A tip: when you're folding the squares, make creases with your thumbnails to make them crisp without having to iron a zillion squares.

27  Re: Sailor Moon Manga Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by cloudsnapper on: November 14, 2011 02:46:23 PM
Great Sailor Cosmos picture! You never get to see her looking like that, she always seems so serious.
Also, the stylus I sent Zenersy was made by my best friend. I don't know it that's allowed. I hope it is. I traded her that for making her a hairpiece.
But, onto my package! I just got pictures, and they aren't that good since they're taken on an ipad.
First, I got a cool glow-in-the-dark star ornament.

But wait! It opens!

Then there's a painted trinket box of Sailor Moon's broach.

It opens up, too!

Finally, I got a really neat tote bag. It's lined with the pretty butterfly fabric the strap is made out of, and it's a really good size for me.

It didn't seem very Sailor Moon-y until I saw the crystals on the side. They look like Silver Crystals. I couldn't get a picture of them that looked good at all. But imagine that they're a little iridescent and look really cute.

Thanks Zenersy!

28  Re: MLP: Friendship is Magic Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by cloudsnapper on: October 29, 2011 08:27:13 PM
I got my super swap package from kksimone today! It's great! Here's a picture of everything I got

It has a Fluttershy shirt, an Applejack magnet made of perler beads (that can hang out with my video game baddies on my fridge), and some neat stationary cards. Those didn't photograph well, but they're really cute so I can't wait to write a letter on them!
Thank you! This was a really fun swap!

29  Pink and blue doll dress in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by cloudsnapper on: September 26, 2011 11:12:51 AM
I think this is where this goes, not sure though.
I made a dress for one of my dolls and finished yesterday. It's made out of a scrap of a skirt I had altered.

I like it very much, but I think the colors might be too bright for this particular doll. What do you think?
I didn't use a pattern for it. I just kind of looked at the dress that came with her and made up a pattern.
Here are some other pictures:

30  Re: COOKIES!! round 2 in The Swap Gallery by cloudsnapper on: September 11, 2011 06:29:48 PM
I got my cookies from DesignVigilante a few days ago. Man! So delicious!

They're chewy peanut butter cookies (there's more, but I only wanted to show a few, since a pile looked lame.) She also included some hot chocolate that tasted great with the cookies, a vegan cookie, and some dishcloths to match my new kitchen! When I joined the swap, I thought "I hope I get dishcloths."
Cheesy
Thank you so much!
