1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Help with pattern in Crochet! Warm and Cozy Crochet Magazine... on: November 10, 2012 12:09:02 AM
So, I've been working on only the first part of this pattern because I seem to be decreasing. Here is the first part of the pattern:

cable panel (over 42 sts; rep of 24 rows)

Row 1 (RS): Ch 43, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of the next 19 chs, dc in each of the next 4 chs, sc in each of the next 4 ch, dc in each of th next 4 chs, sc in each of the last 10 chs, turn (42 sts)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

(This is where I get lost)
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each of the first 19 st, fpdc around each of the next 2 dc 2 rows below, sk next 2 sc on the last row (always skip single crochet behind each front post double crochet), sc in ech of next 2 sc, rep from 3 times, ending last rep at ** in each of last 9 sc, turn.

Row 4: Rep row 2.

So this is where I get lost Row 3 when I fpdc, its not always around a dc since i have to skip 2 sc in the previous row. so its fpdc, fpdc - sk 2 sc - fpdc (around dc), fpdc (around sc). (make sense?) And at the end of Row 3, it is not specified how many sts there should be left because its seems to be decreasing, however, this whole part needs to be repeated 5 more times. I thought I had it, but I dont. Anyone have the pattern? Anyone willing to help me out?
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Squid Advice? on: June 28, 2011 08:01:23 PM
I found this Amigurumi squid that I think is the cutest that I've found, but I don't quite know how to start it? I think I'm just going to start by the fins (is that what they're called?) and work my way up decreasing though I know its started from the top then making a second piece to the bottom.

Anyone know of a less "cutting & pasting" way? Thanks in advanced.

Since I'm a noob, here is the link to the picture:
