2  bunnies, bears, and a bird in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by raewolo on: December 12, 2012 03:31:02 PM
So I just got hooked on trying my hand at making plush animals, and I kind of like it. Here are a few things I made up with links to patterns.

I really like this bunny from Martha Stewart

http://www.marthastewart.com/907608/stuffed-menswear-bunny?czone=crafts/sewing-cnt/sewing-projects&center=326405&gallery=275245&slide=907608

Another really super cute bunny better suited for little hands

http://chezbeeperbebe.blogspot.com/2010/03/tutorial-and-pattern-recycled-mooshy.html

A unique style of bear, but still adorable...just maybe not in green plaid...he looks a little like gumby.

http://www.atlantishome.com/4700/teddy/

Folk art style bear. I feel like this could be made into a cat with a little adjustment.

Cute bear, but such a headache. He'll be headless until Friday since I'm out of stuffing. This tutorial was terrible. The instructions were extremely vague and the photos were of very little help. I had to do a ton of tweaking to get this to look normal. She says beginners can do it because it's super easy, but I disagree. I would suggest intermediate to advanced sewers only.

And finally, a green and white bird. I'm planning to make more and turn it into a mobile for a baby shower I'll be attending soon.

Thanks for looking Smiley

I had to stop crafting this past week because I was needed to help with my cousin in law's wedding. She asked me Monday to make fabric for her chuppah at her wedding on Saturday. I spent the whole week in a sea of white satin fabric trying to make her chuppah beautiful. I'm ready to get crafting again this week! Smiley

Here's what the chuppah looked like. I'm proud for it being a first attempt ever at something like this!

5  Jewelry Bouquet- a wee bit image heavy ;) in Weddings and Bridal Showers by raewolo on: August 07, 2012 01:09:29 PM
My beautiful Mother in law wanted to make her niece a jewelry bouquet for her to carry at her wedding rehearsal. She started out making it herself, but things were not going well so I steeped in and took over. MIL did the wiring of the jewelry and ran them through the flowers, I arranged them, and finished it off.

Sarah loved the bouquet as did the other ladies at the shower Smiley

6  Re: Christmas in July (SO 08/04) in The Swap Gallery by raewolo on: August 07, 2012 12:57:22 PM
I think my partner got a little busy, so here are some photos of what I sent to her and her boys Smiley

mini_mum had pinned a few different birthday banner ideas for her boys. I made this one double sided so it didn't have to be against the wall once hung.

A little closeup so you can see the print.

A matching bag with a drawstring...it turned out rather large, but I thought it was cool that way.

A smaller drawstring bag.

And my most favorite thing for mini_mum was the thread catcher! I never made one, and the tutorial I found online made it super easy! The flat blue check part on top is the weighted part she needs to put the weights in. Also, you can't tell but there are slots sewn in and the bucket is removable.
