1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Garters Galore! Lots of pictures! on: October 16, 2011 04:47:30 PM
So, last month my good friend got married and I was a bridesmaid! I had the privilege to make the garters for the bride, and I also decided to make a set for the bridal party.

They were really easy to make. I kind of went off of the lovely Corinne's tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_JRJi1Y9Wc for the toss and bridal party garters, and for the keep garter, I edge-stitched a slim blue ribbon to the middle of a wider white ribbon, and snaked the elastic through the middle.

I did the same thing for a garter for a photoshoot, which I posted here a couple months ago. It can be found here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=387223.msg4581121#msg4581121.

Check out my blog for more pictures! Thanks for looking!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Veil and garter set EDIT: More pics and another accessory! on: July 31, 2011 01:42:04 PM
My friend is studying Photography and we decided to do a wedding photoshoot to help build her portfolio. I made a couple accessories and borrowed the clothes from our universitys theatre costume shop. I thought Id share the accessories I made!

For the garter, I used a chiffon ribbon with the smaller fluer-di-lis ribbon topstitched on top, and the viel was made with polka dot tulle, with the same chiffon ribbon gathered into a circle, feathers, a brooch, and lots of hot glue!

Check out more pictures and the full story in my blog and my friends photography website, KM Photography.

Edit:
My friend edited some more pictures showing off another accessory I made!

The clip is a circle of tulle, basted around the edge, and pulled tight to make a bubble. I then scrunched it down, sewed a jewel over the ooky stitches, added some feathers and a clip and voila! Easy ten-minute hair clip!

Again, thanks for looking!
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Wiener Wedding Ware on: June 26, 2011 04:46:39 PM
Who doesn't love alliteration? This is my first topic post so I apologize if this is in the wrong place. My boyfriend's dad breeds dachshunds (which will henceforth be referred to as the wieners) and they're as much apart of the family as anyone. So, when he got married about a week ago, it was obvious they would be involved.

Since I have no job until school starts up again I thought wiener outfits would be a good present.

This is Johnson. Pun intended. He did not like the process of making the tux. He was my stand-in dressform.

The ladies, Zelda and Ziva. Mother and daughter, actually. Zelda is in the purple and Ziva is in the blue.

Ziva copies everything Johnson does. In this instance, begging for food.

This is the only good dress close-up I could get. Wieners never stay still long.

There are more pictures and deets in the blog. I hope you enjoyed and thanks for looking!
