1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / christmas wrapping and newspaper locket on: March 03, 2012 05:57:47 AM
I'm posting this because crazydavises was asking how to protect paper jewelry. I made this out of christmas wrap and newspaper, (and  little bit of watercolour too, of course!) then  I varnished it all many times with thin layers of ordianary but non yellowing house varnish; it is over twenty years old and has stood the test of time well.
thnaks for looking

2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / polymer clay mermaid bracelets and a question on: August 01, 2011 06:50:26 AM
hello, I have posted these pics in the jewelry and trinkets section, as well as here,  I wasn't sure if that is all right.
I don't know if you can see but I like a high gloss. At the moment the varnish I am using is ok, I get the gloss and while it isn't sticky, it has an odd waxy feel which I don't like. i have a spent many hours searching the net for a good varnish available inthe uk for polymer clay, and I haven't found one I like, "future" which was sold here has been discontinued.
Can anybody suggest a good varnish? does anybody know anywhere in the uk where varathane might be bought?
thank you, and I hope I have put my question in the right place.

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / I love autumn on: July 05, 2011 12:14:33 AM
here I go with my pics!
 My favourite things are the changing of the seasons. I used to paint it all, but it wasn't enough so now I make it out of polymer clay and chain and leather and anything else I find that looks like leaves and bark etc., I wanted to make  the seasons wearable!

Hello, my name is Noura and I hope to be spending some time here, I first found my way to craftster from a key ring mario.
  I find this boad very inspiring.
  I  am a painter writer and jewelry maker, but over recent years the painting has gone down to the crafter in me. Face it, craftings FUN! I have been doing little bits of jewery for freinds for years but now it has compleletly taken over me and my living room, and   my landlord  is lookng a bit cross. (Might have been the taupe carpet covered in glitter and fabric paint.}
my interests are art, gaming, writing, jewery making, and the changing of the seasons.
