1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Black Sheep KAL on: August 08, 2005 03:57:19 PM
So you love to knit in black? Be a black sheep! Not for weak eyes, sometimes you just need a bit of a splash of non colour to get your work hopping!

This will be an ongoing knitalong with no end date. All levels are welcome, since you get to pick the project! The only requirement is that it be black.

Check out the blog here:

Yep, I'm a dork!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Angelina from WLD on: June 16, 2005 11:09:12 AM
I finished Angelina by White Lies Designs a few weeks back and forgot to post.  It took about 3 months and over 1200 yards of hand dyed cotton from Stitches.

It was sitting weird and my DH can't take a photo to save his life, nevermind fix my sweater so it doesn't look wonky. I'm very proud of her and have worn her a couple of times and gotten lots of compliments.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Jester's hat from From Knit Baby Head & Toe. on: March 03, 2005 04:52:19 PM

Done in Lionbrand Microspun in Purple, and Lionbrand Baby Soft in Lavender. Its sooo cute for a baby...not your average hat!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Superhero Charts? Superman, Justice League, are you out there? on: February 14, 2005 01:10:02 AM
Hey, I found the green lantern charts, and batman/girl too! I thought I'd make a superhero scarf for my husband.

Does anyone have any existing superhero logos? I was going to do a DC universe scarf more than likely, maybe a Justice League one! He loves Superman, so I at least need that one.
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / "holiday" gift ideas for coworkers? on: October 18, 2004 03:08:07 PM
I have to make at least 6 items for coworkers for xmas stuff. I always make something. Last year they got marble magnets and loved them (personalized with their quirky interests).

They are a weird bunch. Very quirky. I'm knitting hats and scarves for my family (7 sets, eek) so I doubt I'll have time to make 6 more. Maybe I can squeeze in 6 scarves? There are 3 guys, so quick fun fur scarves won't work for them and they would have to be kinda plain.  Plus, we are in CA so its not that much of a needed gift.

I don't want to give them soap since I feel weird about it since I have a soap company, so they will feel like "oh, we got her old stuff" or something. Plus, I gave them soap 2 years ago.

Any quick and quirky ideas? Maybe mini voodoo dolls in the image of each of them and we can pass them around (jokingly?). Heheh!
6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / How much cash do you take for your register. on: September 10, 2004 02:52:23 PM
I'm working my first convention on Halloween. I've tried to price things so that there isn't any change involved.

I was thinking of at least a $100 float since I KNOW everyone is going to bring $20's and such. How do you break down your float bills? Most of my items are going to be $4 or $5 or $10 each. I'm thinking of doing it like this:

5 $10
5 $5
25 $1

It just doesn't seem like enough *fret*
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Any books like S&B for Crochet? on: August 08, 2004 07:20:30 PM
I know there are tons of free patterns out there for crochet, but anyone found any hip books? I'm trying to teach myself how to crochet, and I'm already bored of sqares Wink Hehe!
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Recs for good polymer books (technique and inspiration) on: August 06, 2004 01:42:55 PM
I'm wanting to try to make some jewelry specifically, and there is SO much information out there. I'm looking for some good technique books as well as inspiration. I've seen tons of great sites, but I need a hardcopy to have and hold Smiley There are SO many books, I'm having a hard time browsing!

I'm not into little cutesy animals or polymer figures personally. More like pendants and beads and such.

Thanks!
9  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re:vegan recipes! on: January 15, 2004 01:45:51 PM
Tonight I'm making South of the Border Bean Casserole over rice. Its so tasty. I have TONS of vegan recipes I love!
10  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / First Quilt, I'm a proud girly! on: January 07, 2004 01:57:37 PM
I finished my first quilt (king sized) right before xmas to give to my mother inlaw. The pic isn't as vibrant and you can't see the patterns on the fabrics, but its all I have now that its in Missouri!  Cry
