I wouldn't hesitate on buying this book. It is an excellent resource. There are a lot of great wearable patterns, and great instructions on how to make them perfect for you. I do admit I haven't made anything YET, but I have a long list. The photography is also clear and excellent, showing the garment and not just a posing model who covers up the important bits you want to see!
I lost my mojo for about 6 months!! It seems to be back now. The main thing is to wait until you find a project that motivates you to pick up the needles again. Keep surfing craftster because there is always a lot of motivation
I actually knit, washed AND dried my swatch. I got good stitch width gauge but the height isn't right. However, it goes by inches, so I should be okay.
Just pick nice bright or jewel tone colours. A red lace baby blanket would be stunning. I made a nice purple one, and of course black and white always works!
