11  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Will my bag unroll when felted? on: December 28, 2004 09:29:42 AM
Hey,
I'm knitting my first felted bag, and because its in stockinette stitch, its rolling quite a bit; will it unroll when I felt it? The pattern I'm using did not call for a garter stitch edge, so maybe I'm to assume it will all work out and unroll..
Thanks so much  Smiley

12  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Another Rowan pattern question on: December 13, 2004 05:41:58 AM
I was looking over something else I want to knit (the list is endless), and there was a part I didn't get:

Cast on 33 sts
Row 1 (RS): P2, K3, wrap next stitch and turn.
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: P2, K7, wrap next stitch and turn.
Row 4: Purl

What I don't get is that, for example, if I cast on 33 sts, P2, K3 then wrap and turn, I will have only worked 6 of the 33 sts I cast on. What do I do until then end of the row? Does "turn" imply something other than flipping over to purl?
Thank you!!

14  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Several new knitted things on: December 12, 2004 10:23:01 AM
Hey, here are a few things I've finally had a chance to post:
This is a drawstring pouch I made for my mum. The pattern is from Last Minute Knitted Gifts (I probably should have put this under that thread..oops Smiley Inside I placed some needles, yarn, and a pattern.

This is a horrible picture of a hat for my mum and an unfinished "Pop-Top" mitten from Knit Wit. So I've got the glove done and will do the top in a rust color. The hat pattern is from ChikKnits.

A Coif from Knit Wit. Really fun to knit, and takes about an hour.

Another hat for my mum, the pattern is from Stitch n Bitch, and the yarn is Up Country from Patons. Its nice and soft...

This is my pink hat and scarf, both from Stitch N Bitch (Hot Head and Windy City scarf). The yarn is Sheepjes wich is nice and squishy, and comes in lots of colors.

A purple hat I sort of made up.  I think it would look cute on someone with long hair, but it looks extremely goofy on me. Smiley

This is not knitted, (sorry) but made of felt (that I made in the tub here) and sewn together of a wire frame. I then wove the ribbon through. This was done as a "Wearable Art" project I was assigned at school.

Also I would like to thank my boyfriend (http://blog.chriscockcroft.com) again for his photography skills.

Thank you for looking!  Smiley

Hey,
My boyfriend sent me a link to these i Pod socks that are coming out. I just thought they were interesting. We knitters have been making cozies for a while now...I guess they're jumping on the trend bandwaggon, eh?  Smiley

16  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Getting Rowan yarn on: December 10, 2004 05:08:50 AM
Hi guys,
Where do you get your Rowan? I'm in Canada, and all the online distrubutors I've checked out are ridiculously expensive (like $24 for 100g/30 meter ball!). I'd love to make something from a Rowan pattern and actually use Rowan yarn  Smiley
Thanks,
Tere

Hey!
I was wondering what happens when you felt mohair...I think I've heard you can do this, but I can't picture what it would look like. i have some pretty turquoise mohair I'd like to try it with, but i don't want to wreck it either  Smiley
Thanks a lot,

20  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Ideas for a cramped space? on: November 11, 2004 05:17:10 AM
Hi everyone  Smiley
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to de-cramp, de-clutter a space, and if anyone has any "tricks" on maintaining a neat space. I have a fairly lage apartment, but I only really have a small corner (which serves as my studio space) in which to be girly and experimental, since I live with my boyfriend. I have so much in that corner now and it seems cramped, but at the same time it still doesnt look right and so I add more stuff!
Thanks so much,
Tere
