My mom loves the lighthouses, so I found this pattern at cross stitcher's club and decided to stitch it for her. It turned out fairly well. It took me about 10 hours all told. Stitched on 14 count Aida. (Forgive the craptastic photos, taken with my phone.)

So, much like all of you I love the internet. Just a couple of days ago it showed me this really cool trick to turn crayons and sandpaper into really cute iron-on transfers. You just color onto the sandpaper (backwards of course) with your handy-dandy crayons and then apply the decorated sandpaper with the iron. Throw the clothes in the dryer for about 25 minutes and you are good to go!

I picked up a cheap tank top and made a shirt for a swap partner's daughter, who love pigs! It's a Zim pig, cause that's all I can draw. (Photos were quickies from my phone.)



I especially love the back.


It was so simple and so fun. This is something you could do with little ones (minus the hot iron, obviously) so they could personalize their clothes. The colors aren't super bright on dark clothes, but I really like the way it turned out.

So, I saw this at the HobLob the other day ad picked up a few of them. They're small and the only count available was 14, but I'm thinking it might produce some awesomeness. I used junk canvas before, but I'm wondering if anyone has used the soluble stuff?

Do the stitches need to be a little tighter?

Does it actually dissolve or I am going to have mushy clumps on my project?

Anything specific I should know?

I'm just getting into the swapping madness and was hoping to find some comic book tastiness. I wouldn't be able to organize, but I thought I'd see if anyone was interested or wanted to organize.

I thought it could be anything Marvel (or if we needed it narrowed, can't imagine why, then maybe x-men ?).

My little sister and I just finished making glycerin melty soaps. These were so much fun.

We used the glycerin goat's milk base and added essential oils fragrances and food coloring... They might make us turn green or purple when we bathe, but that seems like part of the fun. Oh yeah we used rubber embossing stamps in the mold.


EDIT: They do not turn you funny colors, yay! Also we made some more, some with the olive oil base this time and some with the goat's milk. They turned out pretty cool as well.

This is our peppermint & sandalwood soap (OO base), for my dad who uses peppermint oil everyday.

This is our brilliant coffee soap. We made two so there would be no fighting over them and used the goat's milk base. It smells like coffee and vanilla and coffee makes an awesome exfoliant. <--- Chrome doesn't think that is a word.

I finished this little Buffy quote for my little sister about a week ago. I just got it in a frame.
