31  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Altered Puzzle Pieces Gallery, Round 10 on: June 18, 2015 07:31:01 PM
I like this format for progress posting. Please use this Smiley

Example Progress Posting

At the start of the swap, your posting should look like this:

1.   All Blanks Sent
2.   I Received Blanks From
3.   I Received Blanks From
4.   I Received Blanks From
5.   I Received Blanks From
6.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to  DC
7.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to DC
8.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to DC
9.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to DC
10.    I Received my Completed Pieces from...
11.    I Received my Completed Pieces from...
12.    I Received my Completed Pieces from...
13.    I Received my Completed Pieces from...

As the swap progresses, you should change the color of any statement that becomes true.  For example, if I have sent all my blank pieces, I would change the color (by highlighting the text and using the "Change Color" part of the toolbar) of Number 1.  And if I received one set of blanks, I would also put in the swapper's name and highlight that.  Then my Posting would look like this:

1.   All Blanks Sent
2.   I Received Blanks From ILoveToSwap
3.   I Received Blanks From
4.   I Received Blanks From
5.   I Received Blanks From
6.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to  DC
7.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to DC
8.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to DC
9.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to DC
10.    I Received my Completed Pieces from...
11.    I Received my Completed Pieces from...
12.    I Received my Completed Pieces from...
13.    I Received my Completed Pieces from...

As you and your groupmates begin to craft and send back, the bottom part of your list will also become colored.

1.   All Blanks Sent
2.   I Received Blanks From ILoveToSwap
3.   I Received Blanks From CraftingIsGreat
4.   I Received Blanks From AlteredPuzzlePieces4Ever

5.   I Received Blanks From
6.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to ILoveToSwap.  DC 409823948230
7.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to DC
8.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to DC
9.   I Altered and Mailed Pieces Back to DC
10.    I Received my Completed Pieces from CraftingIsGreat
11.    I Received my Completed Pieces from...
12.    I Received my Completed Pieces from...
13.    I Received my Completed Pieces from...

In order for your part in the swap to be complete, your list should be very colorful.  Grin

THE DETAILS
Time to finish up some pieces for your in-progress altered puzzles, or begin a new one!

For this swap, you repurpose or purchase a jigsaw puzzle (cardboard or wooden) and send two pieces to each of your partners.  You can choose the theme, or you can let your partners have an artists choice.  Totally up to you.

Ideally, we will be in groups of six, meaning you mail out and alter ten puzzle pieces.  (This is subject to change slightly, based on how many swappers sign up.)  If you prefer to be in more than one group, please let me know.

This is open to international partners. Willingness to ship internationally is required for this swap, given the small size of what were sending.

PIECES MUST BE ENCLOSED IN CARDSTOCK OR A GREETING CARD.  If you think it needs to be hand cancelled, please write that on the envelope.  Personally, Ill probably be sending mine in mailers, because it just seems safest.  But use your judgement based on the size and thickness of the pieces your mailing.  Remember how difficult it is when a pieces goes missing (it is a puzzle, after all!) Thanks.

While waiting for partners, you should:

1. Buy or choose a puzzle.

2. Assemble and number the backside of EACH piece.

3. Decide if you want the pieces facing the same way or all over the place. Add arrows to backs of pieces to indicate which direction. (On the questionnaire, I will ask if your pieces are one direction or any direction).

4. Choose your theme or themes.

5. Prepare your pieces.  Some people just mail them as they are; others sand them a bit and add some gesso to make a clean slate.  Its up to you.

6. You can write a letter to include with your pieces and make your wishes known - glitter or no glitter, 3-D or no 3-D, words or no words, whatever guidelines you have for your finished pieces. You can also say "Artist's choice with an ocean theme" or "Artist's Choice" - this means each partner will decorate/alter the pieces in his/her own way and you will have a puzzle with a random look.

7. Remember, you will send out your pieces to each partner for altering. It's a good idea to copy or trace pieces before sending out if anything goes missing.

Hey Ya'll!

Altered puzzle swap is one of my absolute favorites, so I was thinking I'd organize the next one as long as people still want to do this swap. Who's in?!

39  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Craft My Fandom Swap Gallery on: April 27, 2015 10:02:46 AM
Yay! I'm glad everything got there intact and that you like everything Smiley The Rapunzel is something I saw on your pinterest so I drew it on watercolor paper, then used my nifty watercolor pencils to color it in and then smoothed it all with good ol' h2o Smiley

I'm glad you got a good figure! I saw those and figured it would be fun to have a surprise Smiley

Also, since one of your fandoms is for Once Upon a Time, I started watching it to figure out what I could craft from it and now I'm hooked, I'm full on dreaming about that show now haha. As you can see I didn't put anything from it in the package because I was afraid anything I made would look more Disney than OUaT. So thanks for the new Fandom! Smiley
