I'd be in for this as well. Please update as info becomes available.

Believe it or not, I received from Penguino today.

I'll try to post pics in the gallery later this evening, but it's terribly overcast here so it might be tomorrow.

Thanks, Penguino!
13  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Potato Chip Scarf - So yummy on: November 21, 2006 01:43:37 PM
I'm actually about half-way through one right now for a friend.

I'm using Cherry Tree Hill sock yarn for the majority of it, and then I'm going to edge it with some bulky brown handspun.

The only bad news about a knitalong for this scarf is that it looks like NOTHING on the needles.  One big squished wormy mess.  I'll be sure and post pics when I'm done, though.
14  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Would you get a wheel you hadn't tried? on: November 21, 2006 12:26:06 PM
I bought mine without ever trying it, mainly because it wasn't in working order when I bought it.

Go with your gut and your bank account, and you'll be fine.

I second TheBon's recommendation of the Crown Mountain Farms corriedale pencil roving.  It isn't spun, so it doesn't have any twist, but it's the thickness you're looking for and will certainly hold together well on its own (without any twist).

Also, I do spin with it, but prior to doing so, I usually make a GIANT center-pull ball out of the continuous strip of roving.  And honestly, there's nothing more fun than a bowling-ball sized ball of yarn (or roving, as the case may be).

My partner is new to me as well, which isn't surprising since I'm still a bit of a newbie when it comes to swaps.

Have I mentioned lately that I'm EXCITED?!?!?!
18  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Handspun & Handcrafts Swap Gallery! on: November 18, 2006 09:42:19 AM
I received from ambraqi today!

I'll be posting pics later, but in the meantime, I received:

- a beautiful purple hand knit scarf
- five silkscreenend cards with a beautiful black and white floral/viney design.  (Is viney a word?)
- a yard or so of some lovely ribbon

Thanks Beth!  I wish it were cold enough today to wear my new scarf.  I've never had anything that anyone else hand-knit.  What a wonderful surprise.

I'd definitely be interested.  I missed all the other rounds.

And yet again, Ms. Lamamarco and I are on the same wavelength.

Hi, Lauren!
