I thought I took photos of both sides of the mug, but I only found one side on my camera. Here are the "before the post office touched it" photos.

My swap partner just posted the pics (I forgot to take any myself).. a self-designed purse/bag with ideas taken from 6 different online purse pictures, and some of my own ideas.

My partner in a craft swap just received her item. I designed this purse from bits and pieces of 6 purses I liked something about online and a few of my own ideas.

I made a morsbag for a swap:

and I designed and created a Gathering bag. The metal pieces holding the strap and making it adjustable were purchased, as were the brown ribbon for the straps. Otherwise: It's 100% recycled. The denim is from a pair of jeans from a 2nd hand store. The lining and back of the handles are from an old flannel sheet I've been using up for over 10 years. It's finally gone. The short handle, if looped over the carry strap, holds the bag closed. Or open you can use it for gathering.

Pretty much the only projects I've done this summer have been for craft swaps, and only because I was almost late (or already late)... I signed up then discovered Depression-induced Apathy wasn't done with me yet.

Here's a sampling:

1: Japanese Sumi-e painted Enso 2: Hand drawn and colored tree

3: Hoopla (my first!): Acrylic painted fabric with a shisha-embroidered CD moon 4: Hand-drawn Runes in a convenient pocket size format

Challenge/Battle/Alert: N/A
Team/Ninja: Of Ships & Men
Project Geekdom (if any): Sadly: None
Bonus Points: Discovery: It's a gathering bag I designed.
Project Name: Gathering Bag
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: This is almost completely recycled. The metal pieces used to attach the handle and make it adjustable were purchased, and the brown ribbon used in the handles was purchased. The floral inner fabric and back of the handles are from an old sheet I've been gradually using up in projects for at least 10 years (it's gone now), and the denim is from a pair of jeans from the 2nd hand store. I almost didn't send it to my partner I love it so much. The pocket of course can be used as a pocket, and the inner part can be used for "gathering" herbs, roots, whatever. The small handle fits over the longer strap and will keep the bag closed so your stuff doesn't fall out. When actively gathering: unloop it and fill the bag. And of course the strap is adjustable so you can carry it over one shoulder or across body (my favorite option).

Challenge/Battle/Alert: August: Randomizer: Alternate Reality (Geekdom: Japan)
Team/Ninja: Of Ships and Men
Project Geekdom (if any): Japan
Bonus Points: Discovery (my first Sumi-e painting); Nerdy (See Geekdom: Japan)
Project Name: Enso
Project Page Link (if available): http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=424545.msg5071558#msg5071558
Brief Description: It took about 20 practice attempts to get this one which I liked. My friend that does Sumi-e painting said it sometimes takes her 100 practice pieces to get the 1 good piece. This was done for the Book of Shadows swap as the "cover" section of my "Circles" section (Life as a circle dance, things go around and around, Dance, etc)
Project Picture:

(The enso is on the left. the "Air Magic" is also a hand drawing)

Challenge/Battle/Alert: August: Nerdy - Super Nerdy - "Spaceships" Of ships & men
Team/Ninja: Of Ships & Men
Project Geekdom (if any): Of Ships & Men
Bonus Points: Oops... I think "Super Nerdy" actually falls into this category.
Project Name: Hoopla
Project Page Link (if available): same link as above
Brief Description: Sitting on planet Earth, gazing up at the stars and moon, the universe floating by... waiting for the ship to appear and carry me away. "Beam me up, Scotty!" (It's also the very first hoopla I've ever done. Acrylic painting on fabric and the moon is Shisha-embroidered CD)
Project Picture:

There are also hand-made runes surrounding it. Would figure out a way to add those too but no time.

For the un-initiated:
NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month, which begins Nov. 1 and ends Nov. 30th.
Its a month of insane writing fun, with the goal being to write a 50K word novel (its its roughest draft form quantity, not quality. That comes later).
If you aren't a participant of NaNoWriMo: that's okay! If interested in joining many will encourage you. If you just want wordy inspirational stuff... we can do that too.

For those interested in participating:

This swap is for sharing inspiration. Word count tricks. Inner Editor lock-up ploys. Snacks and ideas to help the words flow late into the night. Sending beacons of hope to help the lost and forlorn make it through the endless nights of I must write 3667 words today! And I watched Big Bang Theory reruns all night aaaaaah! Im never going to get this done!

This will be a 3-point swap, equivalent to 1 medium or a couple small items. Though please do communicate with your partner if you wish to do more. I tend to get carried away with NaNoWriMo related stuff, but its going to be a laid back, no stress swap. Theres enough stress in November.

For some swap ideas: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=422782.0#axzz2cCCaisj3

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

Will you be participating in NaNoWriMo 2013 (or have you participated in the past)?

Would you be comfortable potentially swapping with a Non-NaNo participant?

Are you hoping to do more than a 3 point swap?

Do you have any favorite words or themes?

What do you struggle most with when writing?

Would you like something wearable? (fingerless gloves, hat, t-shirt, necklace of awe-inspiring inspiration):

Do you have any allergies? Allergens in your home?

Describe your inner editor:

Favorite quotes about writing? (or just favorite quotes)

If you are comfortable sharing and would like it to be taken into consideration during the swap: what will your novel be about?

I know my questions arent the best so please, please communicate a lot with your partner 

Also, remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find other rules about participating in a swap.

July/August Challenge: Wall Art!! (Home Dec... not sure what you're technically calling it)

This is for a craft swap, but I think my partner isn't on this board. The embroidery hoop is a cool thrift store find. It looks like wood but is actually a slightly stretchy rubber.

Nighttime Tree. Acrylic on fabric and CD-shisha embroidered moon.

sorry it's sideways. I took it on my cell phone.
