1  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / EUROPE / Crafts Stores in Austria on: July 16, 2011 07:45:18 AM
Im trying to make a fabric/sewing supplies/crafts store guide in Austria, I made a list of stores I want to go to, Ill take pics and write short reviews.

So far I went to 3 ( 2 in Austria, 1 in Rosenheim, Germany its about 80 km from Salzburg):

1- Sardaana Henke, Salzburg: This little shop sells handmade stuff by the owner, imported fabrics and some basic sewing supplies. I bought some small pieces of fabric and a cute handmade tissue holder. I didnt take any pics of the shop but there are tons in their website.

Their website :www.sardaana-henke.com/

Address:

Sardaana Henke

Pfeifergasse 18

im Hofmayer  Haus

5020, Salzburg

Austria

This is a pic of what I bought:

2- Karstadt, Rosenheim: Its a department store in Germany, they have many stores all over Germany but this was the closest to Salzburg. It has 6 floors, the fifth floor is Home and Kitchen; part of the department has Fabrics, sewing supplies, patterns, lots and lots of cheap yarn (lots of cool colors but I didnt need any more yarn, my room is overflowing). Fabric was pricey as were many of the sewing supplies. I didnt buy anything from there but they had lots of stuff. I didnt take any pictures.

Website:www.karstadt.de/

Address:

Mnchener Strae 12
83022 Rosenheim,Germany

3- Komolka, Vienna: I visited this one today, it has 4 floors, mostly fabric but they have a section for trims and ribbons and other stuff ( i didnt see the underground floor until I was about to leave so I dont know what they have there). I bought 3 pieces of fabric and my mom bought lots for her friends and neighbors. It wasnt expensive but it wasnt cheap either, the ones I bought were about 14 Euros/yard and the ones my mom bought were like 7 Euros/ yard. They had a 50% sale but not on everything.

Website: www.komolka.at/

Address:

   Mariahilfer Strae 58

 1070 Wien

 Austria
